The Kaukauna gun magazine history begins in 1838 when the first issue of The Freeman Rifle and Pistol was published. At that time, Kaukauna was a small town located on the banks of the Wisconsin River. Residents used firearms to protect themselves from bandits and other enemies.
Kaukauna is a small town in the central Wisconsin region, located about 25 miles north of Green Bay and 50 miles south of Milwaukee. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census. Kaukauna is part of the Iron County constituency in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, Kaukauna has been settled by various cultures for thousands of years. The first European to visit Kaukauna was Jean Marquette in 1668, who named it after his friend and mentor, Pierre Marquette. The first settler in what is now Kaukauna was Nicholas Wilhelm Jelinek in 1837. He built a log cabin on the banks of the river which he named "Jezebel" after an Indigenous woman he met while exploring the area. Jelinek's cabin remained standing until 1908 when it burned down. In 1892, Minnesota-born Chauncey Phelps took possession of land near what is now Hauppauge and started farming it himself. In 1903, Phelps sold his interest in Hauppauge to Dutchman Cornelius Vanderbilt for $1 million dollars ($ as of 2019). Vanderbilt then donated most of what remains today (about ) to the University Of Wisconsin–Madison through a bequest from his widow Emma Vanderbilt Whitney. The university renamed it Avery Technical Institute after him in 1951; however, many elements remain attached to von Drake University including its current name (in all caps) as well as its original campus location on lake Michigan just east of downtown Madison proper. On October 6th 1915 President Woodrow Wilson announced that America would enter World War I; however, no action was taken until November 8th 1917 when Congress passed legislation establishing military districts within United States territories or possessions outside Continental United States: American Samoa was added to this list on January 3rd 1918 and Kaukauna became one such district with headquarters at Wausau Hall on North Main Street inside present day Union High School premises which were also used by Army Air Service Flying Training Command during World War II before they moved permanently to Wright-Patterson AFB northwest Dayton OH later that year following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor On December 12th 1941 America entered into World War II with Hawaii becoming an official US territory/possession following their entry into combat as part of America's Pacific Theater Of Operations After hostilities ended in 1945 KAUKUANAs finest days may have come when they were given city rights courtesy OF THE CITY OF KAUKUANA AS A SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE DECADE 2019 PROGRAM

Kaukauna was founded by Swedish immigrants in 1854 and incorporated as a village in 1865. The post office was established in 1868 and renamed Kaukauna in 1889 after its founder, Captain John Kaukauna. The first store opened on October 15, 1892. Kaukauna's ZIP code is 53609. The village of Kaukauna was platted on February 12, 1854 by Ephraim Domenick and Matthias Hauptmann from Sweden with help from their families. Captain John Kaukauna donated land for the village and construction began on July 8 of that year. On November 14 of that year, the first election to select a board of trustees took place with Arent Ziegler serving as trustee until his death on December 3rd due to pneumonia two days later; Silas Kapp served as trustees until he resigned on May 17th due to ill health; Daniel Jansen served until he resigned on October 15th due to illness; Emil Pohlman served until he resigned on January 25th due to poor health; Gottlieb Schneider served until his resignation effective February 1st due to ill health; August Meier served until his resignation effective March 6th because of an attack of paralysis caused by yellow fever which had recently hit the area.; Nils Jensen serving as interim trustee from April 5-May 27th when Gottlieb Schneider returned from sick leave.; Franz Lassen serves as acting trustee for an indefinite period pending appointment by a permanent trustee pursuant to Wis . Kaukauna was founded by the Gottlieb family in 1820. The town was named for a small and outlet stream that crossed Kaukauna Creek. Kaukauna grew to become a thriving community, with a school, churches, stores and residences. In the late 1800s, Kaukauna experienced an influx of Scandinavian immigrants who arrived to work on the new railroad. This led to increased development in the town and made it one of the most prominent agricultural communities in Wisconsin. The Gottlieb family donated land to build a village that would serve as their home until they died in 1903. The village continued to be used as a farming community until it was destroyed by fire in 1951.
