Janesville, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin that was founded in 1871. The population was 20,898 at the 2010 census. The county seat and largest city is Janesville. The townships of Alpine and Newberry are also located in Janesville Township. The first gun case history in Janesville happened on October 3, 1871 when one John Cramer bought 50 rounds of ammunition from Wm Hickey for $5. This was the first purchase made by Cramer in what would become the town of Janesville. In 1881, Dr J Fenton opened a dispensary in the town which would serve as a medical center for many years to come until it closed down due to lack of funding in 1931. In 1907, local farmers started marketing their produce directly to consumers instead of going through the grocery store chain like they had done before. This led to the creation of some very successful businesses that still operate today such as A&W Root Beer and Miller Lite Brewery (now craft beer company MillerCoors). In 1969, Ronald Reagan was elected president and he soon began making changes to American society based off his political beliefs which influenced how people thought about guns and gun cases specifically. One change that Reagan made was increasing taxes on handguns so that more money could be put towards education programs for children across America who were being impacted by gun violence firsthand (this program continues today). He also passed laws prohibiting handguns from being sold or possessed within 100 yards of schools, playgrounds, daycare centers or any other places where children might be present without an adult having control over them. This law did not go into effect until 2004 because then-Governor Tommy Thompson decided not to sign it into law because he felt that its impact would have been too small after all these years since handgun sales had resumed almost immediately afterwards without this new law taking affect! One very famous case involving a handgun took place right here in Janesville back on February 14th, 1978 when three men were stopped by police while driving their car around midnight near Lake George Parkway and Third Street Northeast (near where current Daycare Center South Campus stands today). This event became known as “the shooting at Lake George” because three innocent people were shot dead during this incident! Janesville, Wisconsin is a town in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,953 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east bank of the Chicago River and is part of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area. The first settlement in Janesville was made by Solomon Davenport in 1836. The town was named for John Nesselrode, 1st Viscount Janesborough. The first post office was established in 1840. In 1851, the townsite of Janesville were combined with that of Holmby to form the new town of La Crosse. In 1857, a school teacher named Moses Ransom built a cabin near what is now downtown Janesville and opened it as a school house. A second school building was built in 1870 and became known as State Normal School #2 (now UW- La Crosse). In 1876–77, pneumonia sweeping through northern Wisconsin caused many farmers to move their families to central Illinois; however, some residents kept their homes while others moved into the new townsites around La Crosse andJanesville. After several years of discussion about forming a village or city within Janesville proper, no action was taken until 1888 when Jno Haggerty donated land on which would be constructed what is now North High Street Baptist Church (now First Baptist Church). On December 20th 1890 voters approved an incorporation ordinance which created City Hall/Zoning Board #4 with six members: four men from la Crosse and two from Janesville As more people moved into town center over time more businesses opened up including grocery stores (Milwaukee Grocery Co., US GroceryCo.), hardware stores (Janesville Hardware Co., etc.), restaurants (Pizza Nova), pharmacies (Apothecary Drug Store & Pharmacy), insurance companies (Wisconsin Mutual Insurance Company) On January 14th 1915 Mayor Samuel Ziegler announced plans to build "The Arsenal" an artillery park east of town along then north side of Chicago River between present day Goodhope Avenue and South Broadway Avenue; this project never came to fruition due to World War I economic factors but did result in construction of nearby First National Bank Building which still stands today
