The Bland Shotgun company was founded by Johnnie Bland and his brother-in-law, Sam Younge, in 1907. In 1912, the brothers opened a gunsmith shop on State Street in Janesville. From 1912 to 1915, the shop was known as Younge & Bland Gun Shop. In 1916, J&B Firearms Corporation was founded andjohnnie Bland became its president and CEO. Over the years, J&B Firearms Corporation has produced hundreds of firearms including shotguns, pistols, rifles and revolvers. At one point it was the largest manufacturer of firearms in America. In addition to handguns and shotguns for home use and hunting purposes, J&B Firearms Corporation also manufactured air guns and pellet guns for sporting events such as target Shooting competitions.

The Janesville Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in 1883. The club's first weapon was a six-shooter called the "Janesville Rifle". In 1903, the club became part of the Wisconsin Rifle Association. In 1934, Janesville also became an affiliate of the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Janesville is a town in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 25,542 at the 2010 census. The name Janesville comes from the French words "janvier" meaning winter and "vassel" meaning vessel. The first settlers in Janesville were Emigrant Ute traders who came overland from Utah in 1847. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Kettle River and started trading with Indians and other tribes. In 1848, a group of Swedish immigrants arrived and founded the village of Galesburg on an island in Kettle Creek near present-day Janesville. In 1862, Germans began to arrive in what is now Janesville through Septsbury Township. They founded the town of Janesville on land that had been part of German Village No. 5 along Green Bay Road east of present-day Orchard Street. In 1870, two men named Clausen and Rasmussen bought 400 acres (1 km2) of land north of present-day Janesville for $5 per acre (.25 linear foot). This area would later become known as Ridgway Park after its founder, Jens Ludvig Ridgway Sr., who also purchased the land from Clausen and Rasmussen. The first schools in Janesville were built by Danish parents who immigrated to America in 1872: Peder Christensen (father), Ole Christensen (son), Martin Andersen (brother), Johannes Pedersen (brother-in-law), Niels Nielsen (nephew), Rasmus Rasmussen (nephew) and Christoffer Kragh Larsen (cousin). All six children became farmers or employees withinJanesville during their early years here; however, it was only when they married American women that they developed their own businesses outside their homes which survive to this day including two grocery stores - one inside Ridgway Park today while another still operates out there - as well as several churches including Adventist Lutheran Church which still meets every Sunday morning at 7am since its founding in 1865! Migration continued throughout Decatur County until about 1910 when most all farms were abandoned because so many Americans had left Wisconsin to enter into industry during World War I then followed by Prohibition which caused even more departures paralysis leaving few jobs for anyone back home! However some people did return such as Rudolph Haas who reopened his restaurant called 'Haas Brothers Custom House' south side corner First Avenue & Third Street after serving prohibition duty during thirties There was also hardware store operated by Harry Bringa & Sons starting south side corner Second Avenue between Washington Avenue & Fourth Street next door to Henni's Cafe before being taken over by Kohl's Department Store Incorporated following WWII !! Here you could buy interesting items like car keys etc not just everyday things like clothes !! Postwar Decatur saw growth with new housing developments going up such as Brush Lakes subdivision off Highway 14 acrossfrom current day University Park right nextto UW campus making it possible for most white students seeking education hereto do so without fear of discrimination!!& finally Straight Drive development addition adjacent to current day UI campus... these changes took place during period just prior to major fire that destroyed much downtown business district late 50's/early 60's
In 1836, the first white settlers in Janesville arrived. They were led by Capt. John Fetterman, who had been appointed to lead a party of Prairie farmers and explorers into what is now Wisconsin. The town was named for General George Washington Carleton, who had served as Commandant of the United States military prison at Fort Snelling. The town grew rapidly, and in 1848 it was platted out as a village on the east side of Chicago Avenue between Michigan and Adams Streets. By 1880, Janesville had a population of 2,500 people and was one of the largest towns in Wisconsin.
