Hudson, Wisconsin is an unincorporated community located in the town of Hudson, Dodge County, Wisconsin. The community was founded by settlers in 1851 and was named for John Hudsons (1788-1865), a pioneer settler who built a cabin here. The first post office in Hudson opened on July 27, 1857. In 1865, the community became the site of a county fair which was held every year until 1912. The fair attracted many people from all over the Midwest to taste local products and explore rural areas. From 1912 to 1974, the county fairgrounds were used as a training ground for police officers of Dodge County. Today, there are only a few remaining relics from the old fairgrounds including an old barn that served as a shelter during two winters and three floods; and an exhibit about life in rural Dodge County called "Dodge County: A History of Our Place".

Hudson, Wisconsin is a town located in the U.S. state ofWisconsin and within the Green Bay, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,611. The name "Hudson" derives from John Hudson who settled in this area in 1836. The first post office in Hudson was established on March 3, 1839 by Samuel J. Foltz and received its present name on July 1 of that year. The town was platted on December 12th, 1840 by George Wickersham under an Act of Congress as part of Racine County. The first settler to live in what is now Hudson was Levi Sibley who arrived there October 15th, 1841 with his family from Illinois. He built a house about two miles west of the present town line on what is now known as Sibley's Road/Highway 7A (now Thompson Road). The first store opened in Hudson on January 9th, 1846 by Ebenezer Brownell and consisted of a store room with a wagon barn attached for storage and several small shops around it which sold groceries and other supplies used by farmers during wintertime when no markets were open near them . On November 10th 1861, at Aurora Cemetery in downtown Hudson (now Hwy 7) Abraham Lincoln died after being shot by John Wilkes Booth while attending a performance at Ford’s Theatre across the street from where he lived. This event changed much than any other concerning Hudsons history; more than twenty thousand people converged upon downtown to pay their respects including many local businesses that continued to function even after Lincoln’s death despite city ordinances prohibiting mourning services indoors “for fear public sentiment should be excited thereby” . In 1919-1920 Clarence Cramer started construction on what are now known as Union Pacific Railroad tracks adjacent to what is now State Street/Route 14 south of downtown Hudson In 1923 he donated land for use as an airport whichisted soon became one of Green Bay’s most popular tourist destinations with over 100 flights per month drawn nationally & internationally
