The Mr. & Mrs. Cummins Company produced these cases with a cotton twill fabric that was treated with a slow-drying compound to make it water resistant and tearresistant. This process prevented the case from splitting open while in storage or being damaged by animals. In 1922, the company changed its name to the Mr. Cummins Soft Gun Case Company and continued production of these cases until their discontinuation in 1951.

The Greenfield Rifle & Pistol Museum has a long and proud history of collecting, preserving and displaying firearms. The museum was started in 1984 by Gun Owners of Wisconsin (GOW) as a way to promote responsible gun ownership and protect the rights ofWisconsin hunters, shooters and collectors. The museum is open daily 9am-5pm, with an admission fee of $3 for adults, $2 for seniors 65+ and children 12 & under free. Admission is also available for events such as rifle shoots or pistol matches.
Greenfield, Wisconsin is a town located in the town of Greenfield, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenfield–Waukesha County Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers to what is now Greenfield were French Canadians who arrived in 1763. In 1836, Henry Dodge moved his mill and store to some land he had bought from the Pere Marquette family and started a small community known as "Dodgeville". Dodgeville developed into a small town with one store and four houses. By 1853, there were twenty-one residents in Dodgeville. In 1857, John Ritchie built a sawmill on the Milwaukee River near present day Waukesha County Lines Road and named it after himself. The first wagon train came through Dodgeville on their way to becoming famous for their trip across the country in July of that year known as "The Great Western Overland Transportation Expedition." In 1865, Reverend George Hinton organized an Episcopal church in Greenfield which became known as First Methodist Church . Reverend Hinton went on to become one of America's most influential preachers during the Progressive Period (1890-1920). He served as pastor at various churches including St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church (1916), Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1917), Park Avenue Chapel (1918), and finally First Methodist Church (1920). In 1907, JH Goodrich & Sons began shipping goods by boat from Racine to Milwaukee via Greenfield Creek. This new endeavor helped start Greenfield's economy and made it an important link between Racine and Milwaukee without having to drive or walk miles apart. Goodrichs closed its business in 1912 but left behind a lasting legacy: The Goodrich Building still stands today as one of downtown Greenfields most prominent landmarks! This commerce led directly to developing what is now downtownGreenfield into its present form with many businesses clustering around State Street/Milwaukee Avenue/Downtown Driveline corridor. Today there are over fifty businesses operating within this vibrant commercial district including six restaurants /bars/, fourteen retail shops/, two fitness centers/, three banks/, two health clinics/, one movie theater/, fifteen apartments/condos/, plus numerous other services providing local employment opportunities for locals! Greenfield is a town in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,853 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the prairies that once surrounded it. Greenfield was organized in 1839 as a village and became a township in 1854. It was reorganized as a city in 1902. The city was merged into the Wisconsin Rapids metropolitan area in 2003. The first settler to arrive in Greenfield were John Prentice and his family on February 17, 1839, when they set up camp near what is now North High School. They built their log cabin on land which still stands today just south of present day Middleton Road. John Prentice's wife Elizabeth later gave birth to their only child, also named John Prentice, who helped tend their cabin and farm until he died young at age 25 years old while serving with the 5th Regiment of Ulysses S Grant's army during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). In 1841, Nathan Sims bought 160 acres (65 hectares) of land southwest of Greenfield from John Prentice for $40 cash plus 10% interest per year until paid off by him or her son Nathan Jr.. In 1865 Wm Hogg purchased 100 acres (41 hectares) from Nathan Sims for $2 ($20 worth of goods at then current prices). This may be one of the earliest instances where purchases were made with hard currency rather than barter or goods given back and forth over time. On July 6th, 1840 George Washington Carr arrived with his family from New York City aboard "SS Mayflower". He had come downriver to trade goods with Native Americans before finally reaching Greenfield on September 9th after spending several weeks ashore at Point Pelee lighthouse.. His brother James Carr helped pioneer what would become known as Carrtown which lay east of present day Greenfield along current Day Middleton Road/Route 122A.. There are two Henry DeWolf houses remaining standing within walking distance of each other off Route 122A west of Highway 8059: One located on State Street between First Avenue and Third Street;the second located on Elm Street between Second Avenueand Fourth Street across from American Legion Post #527 .. Both houses were built about 1870s and are currently being used as apartments.. Another early settler to this part of Dane County was Isaac McCoy who came overland through Illinois about December 1st 1840 accompanied by his brother William McCoy and their families including seven children under five years old travelling together as partof an effort to find new land.. They reached what is now eastern portions Of Milwaukee . On January 3rd 1861 McCoy purchased 300 acres (121 hectares) northeast corner Lot 7 In Dakota Township for $10 cash plus three percentage points per year until paid off by him or her heir Isaac McCoy Sr.? A post office called 'McCoy' was established at this location on November 15th 1861 under postal direction from Milwaukee . It operated until it closed effective January 15th 1903 due to financial problems caused by increased competition from larger towns upstream . According to local historian Dr. Donald Kappelman these difficulties began when General David Ouellette took control of centralized government services in 1905 following Milwaukee's incorporation into Racine County... However business continued nominally until 1903 because residents could still obtain mail service outside Racine County using horses drawn buggies
Greenfield was founded in 1836 by Peter Kerveen and his wife, Judith. The town grew rapidly thanks to the improving economy of the time, and by 1840 it had a population of 300 residents. In 1854, Greenfield became the first town in Wisconsin to be platted as an incorporated village. The following year, Greenfield merged with neighboring towns of West Allis and Gresham to form what is now Milwaukee County. Over time, Greenfield's economic fortunes declined while those of neighboring towns rose. By the early 20th century, Greenfield had a population of just 100 residents and its business district was nearly empty. In 1923, Greenfield voters passed a referendum asking for annexation into the city of Milwaukee. However, this proposal was rejected by Milwaukee Mayor John Cassius because he felt that incorporation would lead to more growth in downtown Milwaukee and would not benefit Greenfield materially. In 1946, when Milwaukee County was created from portions of Wisconsin's two other counties, Greenfield lost its charter as an incorporated village and became part of the new county. Despite this setback, however, Greenfields continued to grow as a suburb of Milwaukee until the late 21st century. Today there are over 17 thousand greenFIELDers living in over 165 businesses throughout southeastern Wisconsin
