The history of gun cleaning in Green Bay, Wisconsin goes back to 1892. At that time, the city was home to Bad Axe Arsenal, a munitions production plant. The arsenal produced firearms for the military and police forces in nearby Milwaukee. The guns were cleaned and maintained by workers at the plant. However, Gun Owners of America (GOA) was founded in 1908 in Green Bay and soon began collecting old pistols and rifles from businesses throughout the city. GOA decided to keep these weapons clean and stored them until they could be sold or donated to another organization. In 1966, GOA formed the Green Bay Rifle & Pistol Club (GBRP) to promote GUN ownership among residents of Green Bay. The club purchased an arsenal of shotguns from Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). After restoration work in 1969-1970 by GBRP members utilizing antique tools acquired from various local businesses, GBRP opened its first store on Elm Street adjacent to VAMC in 1972. Today, GBRP has more than 10 stores across Wisconsin including one located in Milwaukee which is open every day except Christmas Eve!

Green Bay, Wisconsin is a city located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 80,871 at the 2010 census, making it the largest city in Green Bay County and the second-largest city in Wisconsin after Milwaukee. The area that became Green Bay was first settled by German settlers in 1836. The name "Green Bay" was given to the bay by Captain Friedrich Blumenbach who used it as his landing place for exploring the region during his 1838 expedition led by George Washington Calkins. On July 1, 1865, following passage of the Homestead Act,[1] white settlement began around what is now downtown GreenBayou and other areas east of State Street within present-day Whitefish Point neighborhood; this early development laid out today's neighborhoods along South Water Street between First Avenue and Park Boulevard (now known as Clydesdale Drive). At about this time too brickyards were built near present-day Northgate Street/Lake Michigan Boulevard intersection; these brickyards formed what are today Northgate Mall parking garage lot south of East Water Street across from downtown's old City Hall building[2]. In 1916 when Red River Valley merged with Grand Forks into Dakota Territory,[3], GreenBay became part of Rockford Township when that township was established.[4] In 1934 Rockford Township disbanded because most residents moved away to nearby Milwaukie or Kenosha while some retained their homes in Rockford Township until they were annexed intoMilwaukee on May 10th that year[5]. When Milwaukee incorporated on April 15th 1914,[6], it included all but one block east of State St., including most then current blocks north of Euclid Avenue (the westernmost limits then controlled by Rockford Township)[7]: thus southeastern boundaries for both cities were set at Ashland Avenue/Washington Ave./Euclid Ave., just east of State Street where Business District boundary then ran:[8][9][10][11] According to unofficial records from 1912 through 1920[12], during this time “GreenBay” consisted largely only of unincorporated territory lying west side [of] Menomonee Falls Road immediately northwest thereof including much recent Oak Creek golf course boundaries thereto extending thence generally towards Muskegon Heights—and also nearly all portions lying easterly beyond said road & park borders being unincorporated territory under control or jurisdiction either individually or jointly with any other municipality….As no map has been located which would support such claims contemporary descriptions give much more detail than could be gleaned from such scant data’ After World War II ended hostilities there was significant redevelopment taking place throughout upper Midwest United States due primarily to economic opportunities brought about by post-war reconstruction ($22 billion spent since 1945).[13]:9 However little focus turned towards green bay until after Steelworkers Union went on strike there iwas major protests against steel production plans proposed for town center area outside refinery
