Grafton, Wisconsin is a town in the town of La Crosse and the county seat of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 28,814 at the 2010 census. Grafton was founded in 1836 by John C. Axe and his wife Julia P. Axe as a farmstead on the banks of the river Rouge near present-day La Crosse. In 1854, Axe donated land to create what is now downtown Grafton. The first post office in Grafton was established in 1855 and closed in 1907. In 1857, George Washington Carver moved to nearby Racine and began providing food for soldiers fighting during the American Civil War. That year, Carver started selling cornmeal from a wagon to people living along the river Rouge south of Grafton. From that beginning until 1919, Grafton had one bank and two currency notes issues before it opened its current building on Broadway Street in 1865 with $1 million in capitalization! Grafton has been home to many businesses over the years including Wabash Paper Co., IBCO Paper Company (now National Broadcasting Corporation), JVC Camera & Video Inc., Walker's Grain Elevator Company (now part of Ricoh Group), Kress Paper Products (now part of Kimberly-Clark), AEG Facilities Management Holding Corp., FirstEnergy Electric Cooperative Inc., Wabash Brewing Company and more!

Grafton, Wisconsin is a town in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Stoughton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Grafton is located on the north bank of the Fox River and has a total area of 18 square miles (46 km2). In 1847, John Hargrave and his brother built a log cabin on what is now North Main Street in Grafton. In 1862, John & Sarah Hargrave donated land to build a Methodist church in Grafton. The first pastor of Stedman Methodist Church was Rev. James Sweeny. In 1865-1967 Revs. Rufus Ewing and Leonard Weems served as pastors of the church before moving it to its present location on East Main Street in 1967-1969. From 1969 until it closed its doors in 2002, Stedman Presbyterian Church served as Grafton's only religious facility with an active congregation that meets every Sunday morning at 7:00 am for worship services led by Pastor Tom Shepherd (1927-2002). The post office was established at Grafton in 1847(), and remained open until 1959 (). It was then moved to its current location on West Main Street (). A school building also stood adjacent to this site from about 1851 until 1959 (). When the town became racially segregated following World War II efforts by whites to keep black people out of white neighborhoods (), all public schools were consolidated into one large school district () within Green Bay; Grafton residents continued to attend separate schools until 1957 (). This change left many African Americans without any formal education opportunities after they had been forced from their homes during WWII., so many eventually found themselves working low paying jobs in nearby towns such as Racine or Milwaukee while trying to obtain education or work their way up through the job market. Today there are still few African American citizens living outside of Green Bay proper although most have relocated elsewhere due lack of opportunity or racism within Black America today across different continents/. According to 2000 Census data there are just over 2 dozen non-white residents living in Grafton full time and 1/3rds of all households are made up either minorities (of any race) or individuals who identify as minority/athletic not enrolled in school%. Despite these challenges there continue to be examples where some African Americans have risen through local businesses, government positions etcetera including Mayor Linda Wiegand who holds dual citizenship with both the United States and Canada

Grafton is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Grafton was founded in 1836 by Peter and Emma Judd. The village name comes from the word "graft" which means to settle or plant something on land. The first settler in what is now Grafton was Peter Judd. He came to the area in 1836 and started a farm named Judd's Prairie. In 1839, he married Emma Canfield and they began raising crops on their new farm. In 1840, they added another farm named Canfield's Prairie to their holdings. Finally, in 1846, they bought out nearby farmer John Wirth and formed the village of Grafton with its own government and school system. The first schools were built in Grafton in 1842-43 by teacher John Rourke and Reuben Klinebaugh. They were located on Third Street across from the old post office building now used as a library. In 1865-66, Mrs. Julia Averill built a schoolhouse on North Main Street which served as the town hall until 1910 when it was destroyed by arsonists. Classes continued until 1915 when a new schoolhouse was constructed on South Main Street east of town square where it still stands today (although it has been moved several times). During World War II, many industries sprang up around Grafton due to need for materials such as rubber tires and airplane parts during the war effort; however, few people lived here after 1945 because of suburbanization within Sheboygan Countydrive away any economic opportunities that might have arisen from manufacturing plants outside of town limits
