Gun sights were first invented by a Wisconsin gunmaker in 1887. He named his invention, the “Grafton Rifle Sight”, after his home town, Grafton, Wisconsin. The firstguns to use sights were made in America and England during the 19th century. In America, many of the early firearms used iron sights which had to be reset every time the gun was fired because they would change elevation (the amount of deviation from true vertical). Gunmakers soon began creating wooden sights which could be reused multiple times. Wooden sights became more common in Europe where guns were designed with metal sighting systems in mind. The introduction of metal sighting systems allowed for a greater degree of accuracy with firearms and made them easier to use than ever before. Today, most firearms include some form of sight system that allows the user to maintain proper aim at all times while firing. Some rifles even include built-in laser sight technology so that users can see their target clearly while shooting at long distances.
There are many different types and styles of gun sights. A few common types are iron sights, reflex sights, night sights, and laser sights. Iron Sights: Iron sight guns use iron or steel plates that are attached to the barrel in order to help reduce recoil and improve accuracy. These plates can be mounted on the front, rear, or side of the gun. Some models have both front and rear iron sight capabilities. Reflex Sight Guns: Reflex sights allow you to see your target through a moving optic instead of relying on a stationary object like a mirror. This type of sight is great for when you need to quickly identify targets close up without having to line them up in advance. Some reflex sights also have adjustable turrets which give you more control over how your weapon fires. Night Sights: Night vision optics allow you see your target at night while wearing a helmet or other protective device. These scopes typically include multiple lenses that each focus on one spot on the target so you can see it clearly even under low light conditions. Night vision guns come in two varieties- HID (High Visibility Day) and NVG (NIGHT VISION). HID night vision scopes use light from LEDs rather than traditional mirrors or lens arrays; this makes them much easier to wear at night because they don’t block daylight visibility like regular rifle scope do. NVG nightvision scopes use either infrared signals ternalled with red and green filters in order to view during the day but will work at night as long as there is some obstructions between you and your target
Grafton, Wisconsin was one of the early gun sights in the United States. The first American gun sights were designed by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and built by him in 1795 at his Gunsmithing Shop on State Street in Grafton. These early gunsights consisted of a small circle with aomedium glass lenses that allowed for very clear vision.
Grafton, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state ofWisconsin. The population was 2,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha metropolitan area. Grafton is located on the Fox River and is home to many factories and businesses that have been a part of its economy for more than 100 years. The Town Hall Building was built in 1884 and now houses the Grafton Historical Society which has collections of artifacts from local history to fine art. The first residents of what would become Grafton were farmers who came overland from Illinois in 1847. By 1860, there were three stores, one blacksmith shop, two churches, one school and around thirty-five families living in what would become Grafton Township. The first mill in town was built by John Daley in 1865 and it soon became known as the "Daley Mill." At this time, most village activity took place outside of town limits due to lack of transportation or access to resources inside of town limits. In 1871, whenMilwaukee annexed Grafton township into Milwaukee County, most villagers left for good because they were not offered land within Milwaukee County's boundaries or could not afford to transport their crops or build homes there Catholic schools became available closer to downtown Milwaukee making life much easier for parents looking for jobs outside their villages or townships schools also opened up throughout Wisconsin offering education for all citizens regardless race color sex gender creed etcetera which made life much easier for village kids coming home after working hard day at school only find their village closed down early morning so they don't miss breakfast service thank you very much paddlewheeler

The Conte Reflex Sight consisted of a metal frame with an armillary sphere mounted on top that had two lenses that allowed the user to observe what they needed to aim at. The device was very accurate and proved useful in battle. However, it was not popular because it required a lot of time and effort to use. It wasn’t until 1847 that the first true reflex sight appeared – the Harper & Ross Reflex Sight. This device consisted of a plastic frame with an armillary sphere mounted on top that had two lenses that allowed the user to observe what they needed to aim at without having to take their eyes off the target. This device became very popular because it was easy and quick to use and was much more accurate than earlier devices. After years of development and popularity,reflex sighting devices were adopted by most armies around the world in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Grafton, Wisconsin was founded in 1841 by Alexander Grafton and his wife Lucy. The town was named for General Nathan Bedford Forrest, who fought in the Mexican-American War. Grafton is located in the central part of the state, on the north shore of Lake Michigan. It is bordered by Racine to the east, Mount Pleasant to the south, Menomonee Falls to the west and Oshkosh to the northwest. The first settlers arrived in 1841 and soon set about building a fortification around their new settlement. The fort was completed in 1845 and served as a military post until it surrendered to Mexico in1848. After its surrender, Grafton became an important trade center between Chicago and Milwaukee. It also became known for its delicious apple cider vinegar. In addition to its damaging effects on settler morale during times of war or famine, alcohol also played a role in creating social unrest within Grafton during this period of early America development. The town's growth continued throughout the 1840s and 1850s as people constructed more homes, businesses and churches along with other infrastructure such as roads and bridges. By 1860, Grafton had reached its present size with over 1,500 residents living withinits boundaries including 600 farmers and 300 mechanics. During this time period many prominent citizens were born into Grafton's community including Abram Hewitt (1811-1868), Jonathan Jennings (1794-1875) and Major John Cramer (1787-1864). During World War II many local families volunteered their services by contributing food, clothing or equipment to various units across America. Many residents also took part in organized fundraising drives which helped support Allied causes such as providing financial assistance for troops fighting overseas or aiding relief efforts following disasters such as Hurricane Katrina or Superstorm Sandy
