In 1951 Google Earth released Landsat data which revealed that during World War II a large munitions plant operated out of Glendale by DuPont was located just off Ulysses Road (present day Green Bay Boulevard). This plant produced high explosive munitions which caused great environmental damage as well as contributing to global warming making nearby towns such as Appleton very vulnerable to weather disasters over the next few decades
