Unfortunately, this target didn't hit anyrors because he was made out of metal instead of cloth or wood. But soon after this, something new happened with the use of gun targets: people started using them for practical purposes like training dogs and hunting game. In fact, one of the first businesses in Germantown was called "The Dog Trainer" because it sold dog food that came filled with GUNTARGETS! It wasn't until 1874 that someone actually built a real gun range here in town! At this point though, most people only used these targets for practice or during carnivals when they'dsponsor a race between teams who wore masks and shot baskets toward each other while escaping alive (of course!). From here on out though, gun ranges became more common and people started using them more regularly for actual shootings at distances up to 100 yards! Today, there are still plenty of existing gun ranges in Germantown; both personal and professional ones alike. The first guns in Germantown were pistols. One of the first places to buy them was the store called the Gunsmiths Arms on State Street. It was started by a man named Amos Bois and his wife, Fanny. The store went out of business in 1836, but their son, Amos Jr., kept it open until 1851. In that year, he opened a second store called the Armory on Green Bay Avenue where he continued to sell firearms until 1860 when Wisconsin became a state. At that time, all handguns were banned in Wisconsin and all stores that sold them were closed down.

Germantown is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Germantown is one of the oldest towns in Wisconsin and home to many early settlers from New England and other parts of North America. It is also a popular tourist destination because of its historic buildings and attractions such as its Dutch Reformed Church, which was built in 1794 and is considered a National Historic Landmark.
Germantown is the oldest community in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The original settler, Isaac Norris, erected a log cabin in 1836 on what is now Germantown Avenue. A post office called Germantown was established in 1837, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. The first ship to arrive at the Milwaukee harbor was the "Nova" on October 25, 1847. She brought with her 468 passengers and cargo of goods from Liverpool. By 1850, there were 172 houses in Germantown. In 1854, a steamboat named the "Milwaukee" arrived at Germantown from Chicago and began carrying passengers and freight between Milwaukee and other ports of call. The passenger service ended on November 1, 1954 when the "Milwaukee" became inshore property of Wisconsin Maritime Corporation. In 1865, a new gristmill was built near where Main Street now intersects Washington Boulevard by Jethro Gibbs. The mill continued operations until 1907 when it went out of business due to competition from larger mills south of Milwaukee River. The first hydroelectric power plant in Wisconsin was built at Menomonee Falls by the Wisconsin Electric Company (WEC) on December 10, 1916 under the name Menomonee Falls-Wisconsin Hydroelectric Station No 2 (MFH2). Upon completion of construction, MWH2 became operational on May 15 th , 1917 providing electricity for residents and businesses located around Menomonee Falls as well as for power plants operated by WEC downstream at Racine (MWR) and Waukesha (WKW). From its opening until 1967 it produced an average daily rate of 2 MW which served approximately 360 homes across 16 counties within southeastern Wisconsin including most notably Green Bay (GRB), Racine(MWR), Waukesha(WKW), Oshkosh(OSH), Janesville(JAN), Appleton(AO3), Antigo(AN2), La Crosse(LAC), Superior(SU4).
