Germantown is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the western border of the Wisconsin Center city area. It lies within Racine County. The population was 9,713 at the 2010 census. The name comes from German settlers who moved to what is now Germantown in 1837 and named it for its location near Frankfurt, Germany. The first post office in Germantown was established on February 14, 1854, by J.C. Nicolcumbe. It was renamed Germantown on December 1, 1892 after the arrival of the railroad there from Chicago via Milwaukee Station and Racine Terminal Railroad Company line connecting Milwaukee with St Paul and Minneapolis/Stroudsburg areas east of Green Bay Bridge. In 1911, a new high school campus was built at what is now Niles Center for the Arts which then housed grades 9-12 and 8-10 schools until 1965 when all students were relocated to newly developed Wauwatosa High School which opened that year around NW corner of First and State Streets next to Wauwatosa County Courthouse Annexe used by sheriff’s department until 2004 when they moved back into their old building on Third Street behind City Hall across from Park Plaza mall where they have been since 1985; this site has also been home to PTA meetings and other civic events ever since! According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land; it contains no water bodies. As of 2010 census data, there were 2,567 people residing in Germantown Township: 1% African American; 98% white; 0% Native American or Alaska Native; 0% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander

During World War II, Germantown played an important role within the U.S government through its status as a military training center for troops stationed throughout North America. Additionally, Germantown served as home to many businesses such as Ford Motor Company and General Motors who donated their products to support war efforts. After the war ended, GermANTOWN continued its growth with advances in technology which has led to much development within its boundaries including new shopping malls, restaurants and hotels along with increased development around Interstate 94 which now forms much of downtown’s eastern border.
