Ammo history in Germantown, Wisconsin began with the first shot fired in the town on November 6, 1836. It was airdropped from Fort Snelling by Lieutenant Colonel John C. Griggs of the 10th Regiment Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Militia. The fort was located at what is now known as Hickory and Cedar Streets within the limits of today’s Germantown. This small fort was only equipped with handguns and muskets to defend against Native Americans who were raiding nearby settlements. The first ammunition used in revolver warfare arrived in Germantown from Illinois in 1847 when General James K. Polk ordered Captain Samuel Tilton to purchase 200 rounds of Henry rifle ammo for his army during the Mexican-American War. At that time, pistols were more popular than rifles and shotguns so Captain Tilton decided to sell the rounds instead to other soldiers within Missouri before shipment back to Mexico City. In 1852, Lieutenant Colonel John Custer of the 7th Ulysses S. Grant’s cavalry regiment purchased 100 rounds of black powder ammunition for his horse artillery from Gresham & Company Ammunition Merchants near Milwaukee. This new type of ammunition allowed cannons like cannonballs and grapeshot to be fired with exclusively projectile lead instead of Bernoulli's principle which affected all projectiles equally regardless their mass or velocity (the fabled "bullet train"). On October 15, 1886, two men named George Hennepin and William Fenton opened fire on a crowd attending a Republican Party meeting on State Street in Minneapolis killing five people including Mayor Abraham Lincoln and wounding several others before fleeing into hiding; this event would later become known as “Hennepin”’s Massacre” Due to these events there has been much public interest in resolving any possible guilt or innocence surrounding this case since then until it was finally solved by DNA testing over 20 years ago! This period also saw some major technological advances such as electric lights which first appeared here on October 15th, 1892 with the opening of Noyes Electric Light Company's plant on Main Street. During World War II much effort went into creating munitions plants within reach of Morgantown; these included both military production facilities (such as Westinghouse Arsenal) as well as chemical production ( DuPonts Willowbrook Plant). However, most manufacturing operations ceased shortly after Pearl Harbor when war Production Tax laws were changed so that Manhattan Project materials would no longer be exempt from taxation under US$35 million worth of exemptions granted between 1942-1945! Despite being mentioned only once throughout history (!), GermantOWN has been home to numerous famous Americans such as General George Armstrong Custer (1844-1924), Chief Justice Felix Frankfurter (1889-1962), Alice Paul (1908-1974), Julius Caesar Richman (1892-1964) and many more residents who have made their mark on American culture or life outside our borders!
