In 2013, North FondDuLac voters passed an ordinance authorizing annexation by neighboring South Dundee Township which happened without any public notification or debate; however, this annexation did not take place as planned because South Dundee's government officials objected to having their own police department with jurisdiction over northward annexed territory

Over time, other entrepreneurs came into prominence in this unique community including merchants such as George Wirth (founder of Wirth-Binney Brewery) and banker John Pohlman Sr.. By 1860, entrepreneur John Pohlman Jr had built a large cotton gin on the outskirts of town which helped spur economic development within the community ever further. By 1900, most residents had left for better opportunities elsewhere but a few remaining families kept living off agriculture until 1952 when all original structures were destroyed by fire Sets back centuries-old plans for this abandoned towns revival? There are many theories as to why it took so long for this forgottencommunity to be reborn: Perhaps there was little interest from outside observers due to its abandoned state; or maybe developers simply didn't see potential in such an ancient settlement; or maybe it was because no one wanted to live near an old mill that sat derelict since World War II
