Cudahy was once a small town in the northern part of Wisconsin. It is now an annexed city in Milwaukee County, and it has a rich history with gun mags. Cudahy is a town in the town of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,466 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Manitowoc–Waukesha Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cudahy is located on the southern edge of the Milwaukee metropolitan area and is east of Waukesha County. The first settler in what would become Cudahy was Nicholas Crouch in 1836. He and his family removed from Easton, Pennsylvania to this region early in their settlement career. In 1868, Mr. Crouch's son John Fitch bought land comprising present-day Cudahy from Andrew Nicolay for $15 per acre ($ as of ). In 1892, Jno. Fitch's grandson Julius moved his family to what would become Cudahy from Menomonee Falls and platted two blocks of land east of Main Street on which they built a home called "Fitzgerald". This name persists today as one brick building on city block #2 within walking distance of all businesses in downtown Manitowoc Historic District – currently used by local high school students as an academy or science center! The house remains largely unchanged since it was built and still stands today despite years(!) worth of damage caused by wind and rainstorms! In 1914, Lillian Fitch married Edward McCarthy who had also come over with her parents when they settled in this area from Maryland via Chicago (then called “the Great Lakes State”). They started a grocery store on West Street that became known as The Fitches'. Their descendants still operate that business today under different ownership including three generations who are now widows/widowers! Eddie McCarthy served four terms as Mayor of Manitowoc City before he passed away in 1978 at the age of 91 years; he was one contemporary (and namesake)of America’s most famous Packers quarterback - Norm Snead! A few weeks ago during our Annual event honoring him we had many kids ask me about him & how I knew he’d be so great –Norm actually attended our event too….. amiright? 😉 After Eddie died young his wife Mary ran the store until her death in 1983 just prior toWisconsin Population Canvass being held here………. sheesh
Gun mags have been around since the late 1800s. The first gun magazines were invented in 1871 by George Chapman, who designed and built the first practical magazine for a rifle. However, it wasn’t until 1895 that the first revolver magazine was created. At the time, revolver magazines were only used with revolvers that had a three-round clip and were not suitable for shotguns or rifles. In 1915, John Browning created the first successful pump action shotgun using a magazine system. This gave birth to what is now known as “pumpaction shotguns”. Gun magazines continued to be popular throughout World War II because they allowed soldiers to replace their exhausted rounds with fresh ones while on combat missions. After World War II, gun magazines became less common as firearms became more assault-style weapons such as handguns and shotguns that could hold more rounds than a rifle or shotgun can hold in one shot. In recent years, however, gun magazines have resumed their popularity among shooters thanks to their ability to store large numbers of rounds easily and provide an easy way for shooters to reload their firearms quickly on call-out duty or during hunts or outdoor activities.

It was also from here that pioneers first traveled to explore the vast new land that they would soon call home. The Bus Station remained an important stop until it was supplanted by later highway routes. Cudahy continued to thrive through the decades, becoming known for its sturdy buildings, friendly residents, and well-preserved cultural values. In recent years, however, the town has seen some decline which has led to some concerns about its future. However, with support from local community members, Cudahy is rally starting to recover and regain its former glory
