The Chippewa Falls Rifle and Pistol Club is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that has been shooting in the town of Chippewa Falls for over sixty years. The club was founded in 1934 by George H. Forbes, Jr. and Harry L. Kapp as an addition to the local rifle and pistol club. In 1957, the club changed its name to the Chippewa Falls Rifle and Pistol Club Incorporated (CFRPCI). As of 2019, CFRPCI is still one of the most active rifle and pistol clubs in Wisconsin. From its humble beginning, CFRPCI has promoted responsible gun ownership through education and programming on firearms safety topics. On average, CFRPCI members participate in over fifty NRA-sponsored target practice sessions per year; four times per week! Additionally, CFRPCI provides facility rental services for shooting events throughout the area; including state championships and national matches. Theclub also continues to promote hunting opportunities within easy reach of their members through programs such as deer stalkers clinics, muzzleloader tournaments, turkey hunts/ninger hunts/gun shows/fairs etc... These offerings provide valuable learning opportunities for youth and adults alike as they become more proficient with firearms while also enjoying some great outdoor activities! Given all that CFRPCI does to promote safe gun ownership practices within our community, it’s no wonder that they have been able to keep their membership rolls high since 1954!

Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin has a longstanding history of shooters wearing eye protection. In 1916, the Chippewa Falls Rifle and Pistol Club organized an event to promote shooting safety. They created a rule that all shooters must wear goggles while firing guns. The event was successful and led to more shooters joining the club. In 1953, the club held their first target shoot in honor of World War II veterans. They continued to hold these events until 1984 when they disbanded because of budget cuts.

Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Dane County. The population was 97,951 at the 2010 census, making it the third-largest city in Dane County after Milwaukee and Madison. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Chippewa Falls is located on both sides of the river Menominee River, which forms its border with Michigan to the east and into Canada to the west. The first permanent settlement in what would become Chippewa Falls was made by fur traders from Hudson's Bay Company in 1836 as Fort Mifflin on an island in the river. When water levels dropped and navigation became difficult, settlers built ferryboats across to reach other parts ofWisconsin from here until 1854 when a bridge was built over Menominee River at present-day Chippewa Falls for $3,000 (). The post office called Chippewa Falls La Crosse began operations on July 1, 1856, but was renamed Chippewa Falls after Captain John Axthelm (1786–1851), a Canadian officer who commandeered two British vessels while raiding United States shipping near Duluth Harbour during 1837–38. The first settler in what would become Chippewa Falls was James Weldon (1813–1885) who arrived from New York City on October 5th, 1836 aboard "John Dory". He erected a log cabin on what is now First Street about one mile upstream from where he had landed his vessel that November morning following his return trip upriver from trade downriver at Green Bay Youths Landing (). By 1840 only about 40 people lived along this stretch of river due to transportation difficulties caused by rapids and flooding; however these early residents did some developing such as founding a schoolhouse in 1841 (). A second group settled around present day Third Street between First and Second Streets (now Main Street) about 1850: Charles Goodyear () started out bartering goods with Native Americans before white men came onto their land). After him came John Hargrave (), another Englishman (), followed by Othergoods (), Silas Moody () around 1860 then Cyrus Couch () around 1870; all were farmers or fishermen who traded seafood items downriver including venison and fishcakes back upstream at Youths Landing (). This period also saw construction of several dams along Menominee River creating pools that could be used for transportation or irrigation purposes (). In 1865 James Soper (); an immigrant originally from Vermont appeared with his family downstream at Youths Landing taking possession of Lot No 7 opposite Present Day Third Street (); this lot later became known as Soper Park . This period also saw establishment of churches such as St Nicholas Lutheran Church (later Congregationalist Episcopal) founded by Johann Friedrich Anschutz de la Partière in 1865 just northwest of downtown wherepresent-day Fourth Avenue meets Third Street (); this parish grew considerably due to German immigrants settling hereabouts starting out small subsistence farming families before eventually joining larger congregations throughout North America (). Nowadays many people refer to this time period as “the pioneer era” although not all pioneers were Germans/ Scandinavians/ Alaskan Natives like Anschutz de la Partière himself;; there were also waves OF Irish Catholics coming ashore via ship through today’s Manitowoc Harbor during this time frame too! Finally arriving in droves following Railroads expansion throughout Northwestern America beginning with Detroit's entry into American markets – bypassing Chicago – new settlers began flowing into central Wisconsin during this time frame bringing their entrepreneurial spirit with them! Thus we have today’s skyline view looking south down Fourth Avenue towards downtown chipping away at those first dammedwaters forming our beautiful downtown core today!

During World War II, much of what is now upper Chippewa Falls were used as an airfield for military operations in northwestern Wisconsin; however, most of it was rebuilt after hostilities ended and today offers beautiful surroundings perfect for swimming or hiking trails as well as excellent shopping opportunities at local shops such as Grosse Pointe Lumber Company (GPL) and Meineke Automotive Store (MASS). As recently as 1985, Chippewa Falls boasted one of only two remaining sawmills operating in Wisconsin; however, its days are numbered given advances in technology which have made it difficult to produce wood using traditional methods.

In 1847, John Dibble arrived with his family from Rockford, Illinois to start an agricultural settlement around present-day Chippewa Falls; Dibble named his village after himself and named one of his crops "chippy" (chips). By 1850, over 100 people lived in Dibble's Village; however it declined due to low silver prices and lack of marketable goods produced by agriculture such as cornmeal or potatoes. In 1854 Union Army General David Dixon established military headquarters at Bellefontaine Barracks just downstream from present-day Chippewa Falls when he invaded Canada duringthe North American Rebellion; Dixon used Bellefontaine Barracks as winter quarters for most of his army until midwinter when he retreated back upriver into United States hands following their successful crossing of Lake Ontario at Niagara castle that year. However, much remains unknown about this event because no records were kept contemporaneously documenting it either inside or outside of North America! During World War II thousands upon Thousands more men from across Northwestern US Service enlisted here providing uniformed labor for various government projects including manufacturing munitions specifically for use within Nazi Germany during its rise to power across Europe during World War II; many soldiers died working here both before and after war began but few know about it today! Many homes still remain standing where these soldiers barracks once stood giving us some insight into their everyday lives back then!
