Cedarburg experienced some growth during World War II when many local soldiers were drafted into service or served within their communities throughout the war effort; however, most significant development occurred during the early 1960s when several businesses moved from their original locations to new ones downtown – including First National Bank (now Wells Fargo), Elmira Foundry, Best Western Inn & Suites, State Street Bakery & Cafe and Park Plaza Hotel – resulting in an increase in population by over 50%. They raised cattle and hogs for meat, milk and butter; built a two-story log cabin with ten rooms; planted corn, beans and tobacco; built a three-story frame house with twelve rooms on a lot measuring about twoand-a-half miles by oneand-a-half miles (4 km by 4 km). The first post office in this township was established on February 17th, 1841 under the name of Appletonville. That same year saw another important milestone as settlers brought over into this area what would be called “the white man’s Bible”—the world’s first tract map or planisphere—containing illustrations depicting the great Lakes region around present day Cedarburg and its surrounding townships including Racine (then unincorporated), Menomonee Falls (now Menomonie), Oshkosh (now Oshkoshsheim) and West Allis. This document helped spur economic development within these townships beginning in earnest as local farmers began selling their products directly to buyers all across North America via mail order… By 1860 there were well over 1,000 people living in Cedarburg Township with some 20 businesses active here supporting agriculture while also providing employment for many local workers throughout the years…In 1865 when Wisconsin became a state it received its current name of Minnesota but until quite recently not all Kawarthas realized their full affiliation with this new state as did most members of the community outside of those within our borders which remain particularly dear to our hearts today! On November 5th 1870 David Grosvenor bought 1/2 mile east of present day Maple Street from Abram Hildebrandt for $100 dollars ($ in 2018 dollars). Grosvenor had been born near Whitewater Rapids south of Duluth Minnesota on May 25th 1830 to Russian immigrants Peter Grosvenor Sr., age 24 years old at time of purchase along with his wife Anna Katherine Hildebrandt age 21 years old. Cedarburg was founded in 1854 by Amos and John L. Cedarburg as a small town on the banks of the Cedar River. The first settler in Cedarburg, John S. Tilton, arrived in 1855 and built the first home in what is now Cedarburg. In 1860, Amos L. Cedarburg founded the first bank in present-day Cedarburg. The town grew rapidly during the early years of its existence, with an population of about 150 people in 1860. However, due to its location on the edge of a wagon route and its lack of transportation options, Cedarburg experienced few economic opportunities during its early years. In 1865, when Wisconsin became a state, Cedarburg became part of Racine County and experienced significant growth thanks to new railroad connections that made it more accessible than ever before. By 1870, there were over 500 people living in Cedarburg; however, due to low agricultural prices and heavy industry development throughout much of Wisconsin at this time (particularly along the Great Lakes region), economic activity quickly died down around hereabouts by the end of that decade. Despite these challenges, over time many residents have come to appreciate their little hometown for all that it has been: A unique mix of old-time culture (particularly around music appreciation) as well as modern amenities including some excellent restaurants and shopping centers dating back to at least the late 1990s – making it easily one ofWI’s most vibrant communities both physically and culturally today!
