Cedarburg, Wisconsin was first settled in 1836 by the David family. The town was named for the Cedar River which flows through it. The first store in Cedarburg opened in 1845. A post office was established in Cedarburg in 1850 and remained in operation until 1959. In 1856, the Cedarburg Savings and Loan Association was founded. It remains a prominent institution today.
Cedarburg is a small town in the northwestern corner of Wisconsin. It is located between the towns of Spooner and Green Bay, about 25 miles east of the state capital, Madison. The population was 5,831 at the 2010 census. Cedarburg is home to Cedar Rapids Regional Technical School and Cedarburg-Muncie High School. The first settlers in what would become Cedarburg were German immigrants who came from Germany in 1847. They founded a farmstead on Uxbridge Road which still stands today. In 1881, a post office was established in Cedarburg and it remained operational until 1919 when it was discontinued due to lack of mail service within the town. The first school in what would become Cedarburgh was built on North Main Street in 1861 by John Wirthman. It functioned as an elementary school until 1918 when it became a high school status. For many years, Elmira Academy served as the primary high school for students living within reach of Cedarberg-Muncie High School; however, recent plans have call for consolidation of all three schools into one large building that will be built on South Main Street adjacent to Elmira Academy. In 1886, Agrarian Land Company laid out a township northeast of present day Cedarburg on land that had been donated by James Weller (a son of early settler David Weller). The Townshiplaterbecame part of Green Bay County when that county was organized in 1902. The name change reflected growth within the township rather than any realignment with neighboring communities; however, voters approved changing the name to Cedarburg-Muncie after World War II to reflect growing industry and commerce within both townships while preserving their historic namesakes

Cedarburg, Wisconsin is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,123 at the 2010 census. Cedarburg is the most populous municipality in Door County and the second-most populous municipality in Wisconsin after Milwaukee. It is also one of the largest cities in Northwestern Wisconsin and home to Cedar River College and Cedar Rapids Community College. The first settlers of what would become Cedarburg arrived in 1836. The name "Cedarburg" was given to the village by General John Custer during his march through Door County on his way to join General William Tecumseh Sherman at Atlanta near Decatur, Alabama. While traveling through rural areas near present-day Clear Lake, General Custer noticed a high bluff overlooking the river and took possession of land for his headquarters camp on July 11th of that year. He named this location "Kettle Hill" after Major George Kettle who had been with him during the Black Hawk War of 1818-1819. On October 1st of that year, KettleHill became known as "Cedarburgh". The first settler to arrive in what would become Cedarburg was Drury Wroe who built a log cabin on what is now US Highway 12 south of town on December 6th of 1840. Jesse Lantz soon followed suit with his cabin on current US Highway 24 east side of town within two months of Drury's arrival. In addition to these early pioneers, other early residents include Mrs Sarah Hutton (later wife Of Judge Daniel Hutton), Mrs Anna Cook (wife Of Captain John Cook), Mr & Mrs David Mazer (founders Of Mazer's Millsinery Company) and Rev Jno Davenport (a missionary from Maine). By 1850 there were about 15 families living in Cedarburgh with an estimated population size ranging from 80-100 people total including 10 children under 10 years old at that time according to HistoryLink website . During its formative years Cedarburgh experienced numerous changes due largely to events surrounding its namesake Colonel Joshua Smith who fought against British forces during the American Revolution while stationed at Fort Dearborn located just north of present day Cedarburg on Michigan's Upper Peninsula and later served as Governor pro tempore for Illinois Territory when it gained statehood in 1815 . On October 20th, 1800 Colonel Smith married Miss Pennsylvania Nancy White which created quite a stir among local residents as they did not yet have laws governing marriage between Americans and natives back then Although many believe this event marked the beginningof a long relationship between America's northwestern frontier towns like Cedarburgand their eastern neighbour Pittsburgh , actual records do not support this claim Meanwhile back East another wedding occured involving another Revolutionary War veteran named Nicholas Englebach whose bride was Deborah Rossbach who'd previously been married to Jacob Rossbach one OF THE FOSTER FAMILY MEMBERS OF PAULUS ENGLEBACH . As per documented history however only 2 kids born TO NICHOLAS ENGLEBACH AND DEBORAH ROSSBACH - SAMUEL & MARGARET In 1853 Reverend John Davenport arrived from Maine with plans for religious revivalism along with some new friends he made along his travels throughout Northwestern Minnesota – namely Isaac Van Deusen (the future founder/director of Dakota Wesleyan University ), Solomon Browning (founder/director/CEO OF Northwestern Mutual Insurance ) and Nathan Hale (future 7th U S Senator FROM NEW YORK ). Reverend Davenport founded both Cedar Rapids Bible Institute & First Congregational Church located today within walking distance each other on Park Ave., just west off I-94 exit 359b outside downtown Chicagoans favorite bar called “The Boil” near Topeka Avenue
