Goodrich opened his business in what is now part of the Cedarburg Historical Museum. Goodrich was a pioneer in what is now called "binocular sales." He marketed binoculars to farmers and fishermen, as well as military personnel stationed abroad. In 1906, Goodrich's son-in-law, J.F. McIntyre, opened his own business in Cedarburg and continues to operate it today. McIntyre was an early proponent of large format binoculars which became popularized by him and other industry pioneers such as Edwin Ayer in the 1940s. In 1950, Rheinmetall America Incorporated purchased Goodrich's company for $1 million dollars and began production of high end large format binoculars under their new name "Rheinmetall USA Classic." The company has continued to produce high quality binocular products ever since! Cedarburg is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Wisconsin. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census and 2,059 as of the 2016 census. Cedarburg is one of only a few towns in Wisconsin with a population smaller than 1,000. The town was founded in 1853 by Abram and Anna Cedarburgh. It took its name from Cedar Creek which flows through it. Abram Cedarburgh donated land for the town and helped to build it up. The first store opened in 1856. The town grew rapidly during the late 19th century thanks to agricultural production and industrial growth around the area which included lumber yards, breweries, cheese factories, and other businesses. The early 20th century saw some tough times for Cedarburg as World War I and World War II caused immense destruction throughout Europe and North America. However, due to efforts by local citizens and businesses, the town bounced back quickly after both wars ended. In 1945, Cedarburg became part of the newly formed Milwaukee County when it was separated from Racine County. Throughout its history, Cedarburg has been an overwhelmingly white community with relatively few non-white residents. This has changed somewhat over time however; since 2000 there have been several waves of immigrants who have come to work in various aspects of local economy including healthcare or education sector jobs

Cedarburg, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Cedarburg County. The population was 10,711 at the 2010 census, making it the tenth-most populous municipality in Wisconsin. Cedarburg was founded on February 17, 1851 by fur traders George Averill and James Fenton as a trading post on the Chequamegon River. It became a town on July 1, 1853. The first settler in Cedarburg was John Witherspoon, who arrived from Canada in 1825. Other early settlers included Reverend Samuel Morse and his family from Massachusetts; Captain Lewis Cass from Ohio; father-in-law Peter Knechtel from Germany; Amos Meaden from Maine; Job Wellingtonshire from England; and David Whitlock from New York City. In 1830 Ebenezer Sprague settled near what is now downtown Cedarburg with his family. Sprague worked for fur trader Nicholas Eastman before coming to America to start his own business enterprise in 1832. In 1840 Isaac Meeker arrived at what is now northeast corner of Main Street and First Avenue South after traveling overland through Russian Setskania to reach North Dakota via the Great Lakes region he then traveled downriver to Missouri where he bought land including present day Cedarburg from Alexander Ellicott for $8 per acre (valued today at $136,000). Meeker began construction of an extensive farmstead including main house (now known as Meeker Hall) on this property which still stands today within walking distance of downtown Cedarburg today dating back to about 1840 when this area was part of rural Ontario Township outside of Milwaukee County - a fact that has not been forgotten by those living here over time! Today's downtown core developed around two large train yards that were situated just north of First Avenue south between West Side avenues back then called 'the swamp' because there were no trees or other plants growing anywhere near these railroad tracks - an interesting trivia item that many people are unaware about! These yards served as both local industry during much of the late 19th century while also becoming important transportation hubs starting around 1900 when improvements were made to Interstate 94/Ulysses S Grant Boulevard allowing more express traffic bypassing Madison easily! advertising
Cedarburg was founded in 1846 by Isaac Cedar and his wife, Deborah. The Cedarburg post office was established in 1847. The town had a population of about 350 people when it was organized as a village in 1854. Cedarburg became a town on December 1, 1887, and an incorporated city on December 15, 1912. The population of the city was 6,821 on July 1, 2013.
