The history of ammunition in Cedarburg, Wisconsin goes back to 1853. The first cartridge factory in the town was established by George W. Wallin and partners, and produced a wide variety of firearms cartridges including Sharps rifle cartridges. Ammunition production continued until the early 1960s when all but one of the town's six Businesses closed for bankruptcy. Today, there are only a handful of businesses left that still produce ammunition, most notably Star-Brite Ammunition Company which produces high quality rounds for shotguns and rifles. Since the late 1800s, artillerymen, snipers and other military personnel have relied on precision-fired rounds to kill their enemies from long distances. These rounds were either shot from cannons or fired from handguns using reloading techniques known as "binging." When handgun ammo became available in larger quantities it began being used by police officers throughout America to shoot suspects during arrest operations and searches. When Rifle Ammo became available after World War II it quickly replaced shotgun ammo as the standard projectile choice for law enforcement across the US. In recent years Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) has become increasingly popular among target shooters who enjoy shooting at long ranges with projectiles that travel far beyond what is possible with traditional hunting loads - so much so that rifle ammo has been supplanted by caseless ammunition in many cases!

Cedarburg is a town in Cedar County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. The Cedarburg Railroad Station is located in the town and served as a locomotive depot until it closed in 1971. The first settler in Cedarburg was John Hafer and his family who arrived there on February 14, 1846. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Wabasha River. In 1847, David Sargent also moved to Cedarburg from Galesburg, Illinois. He started a general store which operated for several years before he closed it down due to financial difficulties. The last settler to arrive in Cedarburg was George Aiken with his family on April 24, 1852. They built a log cabin on the edge of what is now known as Sargent Drive. In 1865, John Fenton set up an oil refinery near where he lived and worked until his death in 1908. His son-in-law Edwin House became head foreman of the refinery and helped found the local paper company called The Daily Journal (later The Milwaukee Sentinel). In 1907–1908, MrHouse donated land to build what is now known as Hafer Park after his father-in-law's death; this park became one of the most popular tourist destinations in town because of its beautiful architecture and natural features such as ponds and streams that run through it. In 1886 when community development corporation was organized by Mayor James Prentice out of concerns about lack of industry development within Cedarburg proper there wasn't much done other than platting out streets grid east/west bisecting sections of Live Oak Road vernacularly defining downtown precincts then & now clearly demarcating commercial & residential zones etc.; business owners had various but limited expectations (& didn't really care) about further developing their property parcels within city limits properties comprising most if not all rural dwellings scattered throughout unincorporated areas north/south wisconsin substates etc.; Cedarburg's population consisted mainly rural farmers living primarily off their land & herds operation (& some small businesses) many mill workers coming into town during early 20th century thru WW II when new manufacturing technology made possible large scale production

The first settler in Cedarburg was John Gadsden. Cedarburg began to grow rapidly after the opening of the railroad system in 1845. By 1860, there were over 100 residents living in Cedarburg. In 1862, local resident Elisha Sibley donated land for a public school and church. In 1865, Cedarburg became the county seat of Chippewa County and has been since that time. The town has experienced many ups and downs throughout its history due to its proximity to various large cities such as Milwaukee and Madison. However, it has always managed to maintain a strong community spirit which has helped it remain one of the most vibrant communities inWI during this time period. One of the more significant events from Cedarburg's early years took place when they hosted what is now known as "The Great Western Fair" which was held every year from 1846-1849 on center square near today's post office plaza. This fair consisted of an impressive variety of exhibitor tents including livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, music concerts and dances among other attractions that attracted large crowds each year. This event helped kick off what would eventually become an annual summertime tradition for residents of Cedarburg - The Festival Parade which still takes place today on July 4th!
