The original Mace Gun Pepper Sprayer System was eventually donated to Caledonia Police Department who employed it on a limited basis until 1984 when it reverted back to its historical form as an operational tool for police departments throughout Wisconsin including Caledonia Police Department

The town of Caledonia, Wisconsin is located in the Fox River Valley, about 25 miles east of Milwaukee. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Racine-based 7th District in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Caledonia was platted on April 14, 1855 by Captain John Demarest and his wife Elizabeth (née Arbuckle). They named it for James Caldwell, an officer with the 2nd U.S. Colored Troops during the Mexican War who had died in a fighting engagement near Bremen that year. Caledonia first got its name from a local creek which locals called "Caledony" because its water was so clear and cold. According to one account, settlers discovered gas bubbles when they took a bath; they therefore named the creek "Gasbrook." In 1881, Wm Hite opened a brewery in what is now downtown Caledonia and began selling beer under the name Heublein beers. In 1916 he merged with Allyn Brewing Company to form Heublein-Allyn Brewery Inc., which remains headquartered in downtown Caledonia today. In 1935 Heublein merged with Swift & Co., Inc., also headquartered in downtown Caledoniaplease since 1933 as one of eight major brewers controlled by Swift Paper Products Corporation (Swift Paper Products company). For many years this company produced paper products such as envelopes and flyers before divestitures led to its collapse in 1990 due to competition from digital printing machines among other things. Today there are only faint traces of Swift Paper Products left remaining on almost every street corner throughout downtown Caledonia - but those memories still stir something inside all of us! A post office was created at Caledonia on January 6, 1857 and remained operational until it closed on December 31st 1909 along with most other towns within Racine County then annexed into Milwaukee County effective February 1st 1910 although some residents continued to maintain their own postal services through independent organizations until 1919 when all post offices were consolidated intoMilwaukee Post Office Department including Caledoniaplease; this included most businesses within city limits apart from small business owners who maintained their own delivery service outdoors between their homes/businessESPECIALLY FOR GASBURST FINE LAND PRODUCTS
