Caledonia is a town in Vernon County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Mishawaka metropolitan area. The first settlers of Caledonia arrived in 1851 as passengers on the "Natchez." They were led by Captain John S. Butler and his son-in-law, George C. Smith. They built a log cabin on what is now State Street and named it for their home state of New York City – Caledonia (pronounced KEEL - don't). In 1854, the first post office was established in Caledonia with James Hartsfield as its first postmaster. In 1870, Anna White opened a grocery store in town which became one of the most important businesses in town until it closed its doors in 1978. In 1879, partners Fenton Dixon and Wm Bemis purchased land east of town from David Cook for $1,000 cash and began to build a mill that would produce flour for local markets and export to other states. The mill continued to be operated by Dixon and Bemis until it merged with another company in 1984 to become ALCO Inc.. Today ALCO still manufactures flour from scratch within its ownCaledonia plant located just off US Highway 12 south of town It is interesting to note that when this new mill started up there were no streets or even buildings! The partnership that built this amazing facility laid out all the blocks themselves – same as many small towns throughout America during this time period

Caledonia is a town in Caledonia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2000 census. It has since decreased to 1,069 residents as of the 2010 census. The first settler in Caledonia was George Ransom in 1854. The town was named for Scottish explorer and cartographer James Fergusson, who explored the area between 1847 and 1850. A post office called Scotsburn was established in 1857, and remained in operation until it closed in 1908. Caledonia had one school from its founding until 1916 when it became part of the Racine School District. In 1924, Caledonia voters passed a resolution requesting that the local branch of the United Dairy Workers Local 8 be moved to Racine because of differences between those two communities over milk prices and other issues. In 1951, parts of Caledonia were annexed by Green Bay; this annexation led to a population decrease for Caledonia due to less access to jobs in Green Bay than in nearby towns such as Slinger and Menomonee Falls. However, during the 1970s through 1990s growth occurred throughout much of eastern Caledonia due to new development along routes 10/24 which run through town center including Appleton Avenue and Main Street corridor changes that made it easier for businesses with more than one store location on one block to expand into adjacent blocks or across streets without having their business properties take up entire blocks (this type of development is also known as "town-center redevelopment"). This growth caused many businesses located near intersections within town limits (such as Appleton Avenue) not only to lose customers but also parking spaces they needed for expansion into neighboring blocks or across streets so that businesses could no longer physically expand onto adjoining blocks without losing customers or parking spaces). To maintain its status as an important economic engine within town limits while avoiding displacement by these new developments,Caledoniians voted unanimously on November 11th 2002 - after months long discussion online - to annex back portions of Green Bay that were not annexed by themselves
The first settlers to Caledonia, Wisconsin were George and Martha Meeker in 1847. The Meekers were the first white people to live on the present-day Caledonia Township. They arrived in a wagon train from Minnesota. In 1850, they erected a cabin on the east side of town. The next year, they married Anna Stroud and began farming. In 1854, they bought land along the small stream that flows through their township. They built a farmhouse and started raising chickens. The Meekers became known as the "Fathers of Caledonia."
