Caledonia, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay metropolitan area. The town was named after the Scottish settlement of Caledonians in England who had settled there in 1818. The first settler in what is now Caledonia was John Blanchard and his family in 1838. The first post office was established here on December 28, 1839, and it remained open until 1889. In 1869, a group of Methodist missionaries from Illinois set up a church here and started teaching Sunday school and preaching to farmers and laborers who were then scattered all over northwestern Wisconsin. In 1907, when a new courthouse was built downtown, Caledonia became its first incorporated village; it had been part of Racine County since 1862 when it was split off from Racine Township. During World War II, the town furnished food for troops stationed at Camp Randall near Green Bay as well as for other military camps throughout the region; many buildings still remain standing from that time period including Mrs. Ager’s grocery store which opened in 1941 and closed in 1990 after being damaged by fire while still open during World War II; also remaining are several post offices (including one that served as headquarters for portions of western Wisconsin during the early days of radio broadcasting) as well as some frame houses used by local government officials when they visited various areas around the area during war years; finally most notably a number of large metal storage drums which housed munitions during wartime have been preserved and can be viewed today at nearby Government Storage Depot #2111 on Sixty-fifth Street between Hilbert Avenue and Elmira Road just south of Interstate 94

Caledonia, Wisconsin is a town in Green Bay County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,953 at the 2010 census. It is part of the West Bend–Eau Claire metropolitan area. The town was founded by Germans in 1847 and named for Caledonia Township in Richmond County, Illinois. The first post office in Caledonia was established on March 15, 1847. The present courthouse building was built between 1909 and 1910 by local builder Julius Cramer. In 1881, the Milwaukee & Northwestern Railway decided to build a line from Racine to Green Bay through Caledonia and other towns along its route. The tracks were bought by the railroad company and completed in 1883. The town of Caledonia became a part of the new city of Milwaukee after it was incorporated as a municipality on February 14, 1886. Caledonia experienced several waves of immigration during the late 19th century: Poles (1848-1865), Swedes (1866-1914), Italians (1915-1921), Irish (1922-1965), Japanese Americans (1966-1979) and Elks (1980-present). The most recent wave of immigrants came from Latin America during the early 21st century; this group includes refugees who have fled violence or persecution in their home countries such as Honduras, Brazil and Venezuela. Many people from Latin American countries are now also living in Caledonia due to its tight economy which has made it an attractive place to work or study abroad.
The town of Caledonia, Wisconsin was founded in 1855 by John and Mary Jane Welch. The town was named after the Scottish island of Lewis Isle. The Welchs were farmers and settlers who came to the area from Scotland in the 1840s. They built a log cabin and started a farm. In 1857, they married Anna J. Heitmans and moved to what is now Caledonia. One of their first crops was cotton which they grew on their farm until 1865 when a mill was built in the town for manufacturing cotton goods. The mill closed in 1959 but left behind a lasting legacy as one of the largest employers in the community. After World War II, many people moved to Caledonia because of its good schools, fertile land, and easy access to transportation.
