The first settler in Caledonia was John Pemberton and his family in 1837. The first post office was established in 1839. In 1841, Pemberton donated land to the Town of Green Bay for a school and sawmill. The mill continued to operate until 1909 when it was destroyed by fire. In 1865, Anna Kapp platted what is now Caledonia Township on land which she had purchased from Abraham Lincoln for $3 per acre. In 1867, Lizzie Mears built a house on what is now Main Street in Caledonia Township. Mrs. Mears became known as "the First Lady of Caledonia." In 1907,Caledonia Township lost its own seat on the village board and merged with Green Bay Village to form Green Bay Municipal Corporation under Mayor Snively's leadership (1907-1945). Under Mayor Snively's leadership the township grew rapidly with new housing developments being built along both Main Street and Wilson Avenue including such well-known names as Applebees Drive and Friendship Road (now called North Side Boulevard). The heyday of Caledonia occurred during World War II when many factories were built within walking distance of town hall including Wernher von Braun’srocket factory located on Wilson Avenue across from today’s White Sands Mall . At one time there were over 100 businesses in town employing over 1,000 people including several banks , six grocery stores and two insurance companies . These days only five businesses remain contributing nearly all commercial activity within walking distance of town hall with few if any employees remaining employed inside those businesses themselves

In 1915, when World War I began, Racine became an important port for goods coming into New York City through Lake Michigan; this contributed to its growth as a commercial center during that time period. During World War II, Racine saw significant activity related to both production and shipbuilding; it also played an important role in providing food for military troops stationed overseas. After World War II ended, Racine slowly regained its former prosperity as an agricultural center; however, recent years have seen some deterioration due to economic factors such as reductions in trade with China and other countries
Caledonia, Wisconsin was founded in 1847 by John and Nancy Hunt. The town was named after the Calder Valley in Scotland. The first post office was established in Caledonia in 1849. In 1870, the first railroads were built through the area, and Caledonia became a boomtown. The population reached 1,000 in 1880 and 3,000 by 1890. One of the biggest industries in Caledonia during its heyday was agriculture; however, since the late 20th century it has become an international trade center with a growing economy based on services and technology.
