The company continued making guns until it was sold to Remington Arms Company in 1898. After being bought by Remington Arms Company, Winchester Arms Company turned its attention to ammunition production. Ammunition production continued until the late 1920s when it was merged with Browning Rifle Co., Incorporated to form Browning-Winchester Corporation (BWC). BWC became one of the largest rifle producers in the world with many products including AR-15 rifles, shotguns and pistols.
