In 1978, John's Ammunition reached its peak production with over 350 employees making rifles, shotguns and pistols using various types of projectiles. The company was bought by Magnum Ammo Company in 1984 and continued expanding until 1994 when it was sold to Cabela's Incorporated. In 2002-2004, the company moved from its original location on Milwaukee Avenue to a new facility on State Street which allowed them to continue producing high quality ammo products under one roof.

With only ten residents, Neenah quickly became a ghost town until 1851 when Isaac Stevens started a sawmill here which soon grew into an important flour milling center for the area. In 1865, Hamilton College began operations here as an agricultural school with fourteen students; it would become one of America's largest collegiate institutions with over 350 students and fifty-six faculty members by 1900 In 1955, Burlington incorporated as a city under proposed state legislation that had been introduced by then-Governor John Connally The City Council voted 7-1 to incorporation on November 8th 1955 despite strong opposition from some civic leaders who argued that incorporation would merely increase taxes without any real benefits to the community or citizens . After years of discussion with various interested parties all leading up to incorporation - including representatives from both cities of Milwaukee (then part of Racine) – ultimately being accepted by both municipalities on November 8th 1955 was seen as significant victory for Burlington over confrontational opponents who favored secession or even removal from Illinois while still maintaining their right to exist within their own respective states

The company manufactured radios, autos, flourishes such as peppermint extract (or "Minty Mary"), bicycles, cribbage boards and other early consumer products including carriages for funeral services; it closed in 1958 but remained active until 1984 when it merged with Sears Roebuck & Co.'s Children's Department store chain to form Sears-Kmart Inc.; however Kmart itself shut down two years later following heavy defeat at the hands of Amazon online retail giant Amazon Kindle
