Brookfield, Wisconsin is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin located on the Fox River. The population was 5,059 in 2010, making it the ninth most populous municipality in Wisconsin. It is also one of the largest and most diverse communities in east-central Wisconsin; its residents are known for their farmers' markets, breweries, cheese factories, and other local businesses. The first settlements in what is now Brookfield were made by early European settlers from Hungary and Italy who arrived during the 18th century. A post office called "Brookfield" was established in 1796, but no town development took place until about 1820 when a group of investors organized a township to sell land to prospective settlers. The cornerstone for the first courthouse was laid on July 15, 1830 by Governor John Evans with assistance from then-City Councilor Joshua Huntington. Brookfield became an incorporated village on January 1, 1856 under the name "Northbrook". On May 26 of that year it annexed the neighboring village of East Brookfield which had been created as part of a merger between Northbrook and East Chicago Township. The annexation gave Brookfield a total population of 713 people. In 1870–71 there was another wave of immigration to easternWisconsin caused by new opportunities available after America's entry into World War I; this resulted in a rapid growth rate for businesses and jobs throughout rural areas across central Wisconsin including Brookfield which saw an increase from 627 residents in 1915 to 2,814 residents by 1970 census estimates). After several iterations such as change in architecture (including using fiberglass instead of plastic), lightweight materials (such as carbon fiber) and increased accuracy (including windage/elevation adjustments), finally in 2000 Colt Defense announced that they had developed their version of an airsoft gun utilizing an aluminum receiver with RIS stock called Airsoft Master Gun which incorporated many features from both Assault Rifles & Pistol models such as dust cover & illuminations for night shooting or competition use
