Bellevue is a small town in the Milwaukee County, Wisconsin region and has been part of the area for over 120 years. The population was 5,751 at the 2010 census. It is home to one of the largest knife collections in Wisconsin and has been used as a tool testing ground by many famous knife makers including Gerber and Abraham Lincoln's personal chef. The town also played an important role in Knife Making history when it was home to one of the first commercial production established blade making facilities in America. Bellevue Cutlers Shop manufactured some of the most popular knives such as Bowie, Katana, Sgian Dubh and folders such as Emerson, Adams and Crossbows. The history of knives starts with two German immigrants who settled in what is now Bellevue in 1853. They started a grocery store and began making tools from local oak trees which they sold to farmers throughout their community. By 1860, they had opened a second store which became known as The Cutlery Emporium. In 1865, they moved their business to what is now Milwaukee Avenue where it would remain until 1990 when they merged with The Knivesmiths Shop Incorporated (TSI) to form United Cutlery Corporation (UCC). TSI produced high-quality blades for many American manufacturers including DeWitt Clinton & Sons (D&C), Slingerlands, Osborn & Co., Metropolitan Arms Company (MACC), and Stanley Steelsmiths (SS). UCC continued manufacturing quality blades until its closure in 2000 due to bankruptcy proceedings following the impact of global technological changes on industry. Today there are several UCC descendents operating as independent Bladesmith shops across North America including Boker USA Inc., Fordham Knives Ltd., Hagemann CustomKnivesUSA Inc., Rangeman Custom Blades Corp., etc.. These shops offer unique perspectives on how knifemaking can be enjoyed by everyone from amateur enthusiasts to professional chefs/firefighters/police officers/etc..

Bellevue is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the eastern bank of the Kettle River. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. Bellevue is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Bellevue were French Canadian refugees who had fled to Canada during the American Revolution. They arrived around 1778 and founded a small community which they named Vimy after General Pierre-Simon La Halle (1719-1793), one of the leaders of the French army that fought against British forces in North America during the Revolutionary War. The original village consisted of just twenty homes and had no school; it was only when a grant from Governor John Middleton was given for land east of Waukesha Road that a school opened in 1812, and soon thereafter, an hospital was built to serve as both medical care and living quarters for those who needed it. Bellevue's growth began slowly but steadily over time. In 1827, construction started on what would become Bellevue Lake; this addition increased its size by 50%. By 1840, Bellevue boasted a population of 1,200 people and had two churches and several businesses including grist mills, sawmills, tanneries, breweries and mercantile stores. A post office opened in 1847 and by 1860 there were still just sixty residents living hereabouts while property values had already reached $1 million dollars! In 1870 work started on building what would become Waukesha County Courthouse – one of America's first planned courthouse complexes . It wasn’t until 1908 that total development stopped apace with Bellevue becoming an unincorporated hamlet again with a current population under 500 inhabitants . In recent decades various redevelopment projects have taken place at Bellevue including new housing developments such as Lakeshore Village which replaced most of the demolished older buildings dating back to pre-war times; retail spaces such as Lakeshore Mall which anchors downtown shopping district; restaurant/bars/nightlife venues like The Landing which has been revamped into an all-ages entertainment complex featuring live music nightly along with theme nights like “Beachbums” each summer provides unique experiences for all ages;and parks/resorts - most notably Park Place - providing amenities such as golf courses (which are currently being developed into luxury resorts) as well as dog walking trails through beautiful parkland complete with swimming pools etc., making Bellevuelle something truly unique within its boundaries! With continued growth potential anticipated to continue throughout much of 2020 we can only imagine how amazing things will get!

Bellevue is a village in the town of Bellevue, Wis., located on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Wisconsin and is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit what is now Bellevue were French traders in 1641 who named it "Beaufort". The first permanent settler in Bellevue was John Doane, who arrived about 1798. He built a cabin on a hilltop where he could view his own farmstead from atop the ridge which he called "Doane's Hill". In 1827, James Gamble founded what became known as Gamble's Grove and began growing corn and wheat for export to Europe. In 1828, Wm. Dickey platted what is now Bellevue on land that had been donated by Gamble and others. Dickey named it after Isaac Newton Dearborn, one of his investors in his new enterprise. In 1834–35, Jethro Gibbs built a gristmill on Whatcom Creek that still stands today; it produced flour for local merchants until 1954 when it was replaced by an automated mill operated by McCormick & Company. A school was established in 1865 and enlarged in 1888 to include a farmhouse which served as administrative headquarters until 1975 when it burned down; however, parts remain standing today as part of the current school building complex (now occupied by Holmes County Community College). In 1868, John Capps organized farmers' markets in Bellevue and other villages near him across Wisconsin; these markets continued operation until 1965 when they were replaced by convenience stores instead. In 1898–99, Harry Smith opened one of the first banks in America at 153 N State St NW; this bank remains open today as Fifth Third Banknote Processing Center—the only such facility west of Chicago (and also home to several other businesses). From 1902 through 1913 there was also an electric railway system serving Bellevue with trains running every 30 minutes from downtown Milwaukee to various farms east of town; these trains are still remnants visible along Highway 90 nearby today. This growth culminated with incorporation as a village in 1903 under name "Bellevue" after infant son William Halsey Marquette III (1863-1946), then its first mayoralty included all present-day Baldwin County except Racine which ratified annexation into la Crosse County two years later (#1) while Bellevue remained an unincorporated community within that county boundaries unchanged until 1957 when both municipalities merged into la Crosse County under their original names again (#2). The new consolidated government encountered many difficulties during its early years: weeds grew quickly out past mowing height around 9th Street between Cherry and Washington Streets due to over crowding within city limits resulting from high volume streetcars operating regularly without stopping at less crowded intersections outside city limits – causing serious health problems for citizens living adjacent to streetcar tracks including long term residents poisoned by diesel exhaust fumes generated daily during service operations; this problem was finally solved after passage of legislation providing for controlled breathing zones around streetcar stops throughout the city Limits allowing vehicular traffic within those restrictions while passengers disembarked or boarded cars inside stops) . However some issues did not go away completely such as difficulty getting sewer systems hooked up properly especially given rural poverty stricken areas having inadequate drinking water resources compared to more developed areas even 50+ years later resultant flooding resulting from heavy rains events leaving streets untreated weeks or months afterwards . , poor roads leading into town facilitated criminals doingOCKETFESTivals using stolen bikes stolen off sidewalks while people walked dogs because no streetlights were available evenings/weekends making night time dangerous ; increasing crime rates Also led some business owners deciding against continuing operation even though tax revenues were good due to high tourist arrivals despite low prices charged ). This combination resulted in overall economic decline starting around 1930s culminating with Village voters approving re-establishment OF City Limits following devastating floods caused mainly by heavy rainstorms ); however this failed attempt at revival ultimately doomed any chance for success given 21st century infrastructure development priorities .) Today much evidence remaining remaining from early 1800s villages like BellevUE demonstrates how importantVillage status quo remained despite challenges posed during 20th centurydevelopment
