The menomonee River forms much of the town's border and its downtown is home to a number of shops including JCPenney (now Macy's), Sears, Kmart, Ford Motor Company, Shopko's grocery store and two movie theaters: one operated by Regal Cinemas Corporation which closed operations in 1984 due to competition from Blockbuster Video; and another operated by First National Pictures until it went out of business in 1995). In addition to these retail storefronts there are also several small restaurants scattered throughout town including Joe's Pizza & Pasta (later known as Papa John's Pizza), Casey's Coffee House (now defunct), Dutch Bros., Dunkin' Donuts/Dunkin' Donuts Jr., Sonic Drive-In/Sonic Drive-In Nites Out!, etc.. "Downtown" can be defined as any area south of Third Street between State Street & Menomonee River Boulevard within walking distance or bike riding distance of most unincorporated areas within town limits which have similar shopping experiences as " Downtown". Most stores located this way offer delivery services or take care of food preparation for their customers who live elsewhere within convenient radius while also providing some economic development opportunities for those nearby! Additionally "Downtown", like many other aspects of life hereabouts revolves around Recreation Department Programs such as Bowling leagues/groups playing various games all winter long outdoors without endangering anyone else so what could be considered negative about it? Well currently there isn't really anything going on hereabouts that might make people want to leave because everyone either enjoys coming back every day or just doesn't have anything better to do!"

Beaver Dam is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the Racine River. The population was 6,387 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Beaver Dam was established in 1836 as a dry goods store and post office by Adam Donigan and his wife Nancy. The town name may be derived from "Beaver" which meant "a brook with clear water near where it flows." In 1840, David Beavers built a dam on the Racine River to power his flour mill and create power for his millrace turbines. Beaver Dam became an incorporated town in 1853 under the name of Appleton. A post office was organized at Beaver Dam in 1856, and remain so until 1961 when it changed its name to Milwaukee. The city of Milwaukee annexed Beaver Dam in 1904 following annexation by Milwaukee County from Appleton Township. The original plat for what would become known as Downtown was filed on March 10, 1851 by Jno Lovejoy and six other developers who purchased land east of State Street between Lake Michigan and Capitol Square (now Wauwatosa). At that time there were only a few buildings on this large block including two stores/the first hotel west of Chicago called the Dearborn House . By 1865, construction began on what would become known as Park Square – now downtown – with three blocks north along Water Street to State Line Road, across from First National Bank (later Wauwatosa Savings Bank). Within two years all but one building had been erected: First National Bank Building (now the University Of Wisconsin–Milwaukee), then Lutherans Church (Now Trinity United Methodist Church) . John Slingerland served as first mayor from 1865-1867 and again from 1870-1872; he also chaired City Council during this time period . He lost reelection bid to Julius Cramer in 1874 but regained office four years later when Mayor George Schneider vacated office to run for governor . In 1880s river levels had begun rising rapidly due mostly to glacier melting due to climate change associated with increased drought Severance Wyman notes that although these rates are not standard today they constituted “major” flooding events during this era which caused extensive damage both inside and outside cities … [Wyman] Thereafter much development took place around Lakeside Avenue upriver including new hotels such as Washington Hotel which replaced First National bank building destroyed by fire in 1908″ (Severance Wyman) As more people moved into downtown over time shops such as Sears & Roebuck relocated out onto Market Street while further uptown businesses like Wells Fargo moved into former warehouse space along Interstate 94 adjacent to Parker Playground before being displaced again when I-94 was dedicated… within fifteen years most commercial districts had disappeared leaving only residential areas hugging either side of Waterfront Boulevard″ (Parker Playground) With nearly 400 residents living within walking distance of Main Street main street developed primarily around Waterfront Boulevard becoming vehicle access point with few storefronts orresidential buildings remaining until after World War II when many warehouses were converted into apartments or used for military housing during Cold War era
