The Beaver Dam Firearms Museum is a nonprofit organization that owns and operates the firearms museum in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The museum was founded in 1990 and is located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Beaver Dam is a small town in the Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Beaver Dam is located on the west side of the Des Moines River and it has a ZIP code of 54115. The first settler in what is now Beaver Dam was John Slattery who came overland from Canada in 1823. He named his property "Beaver Dam" after the dam that he saw on the river near where he stood. In 1828, David Birney purchased land east of Beaverdam from John Slattery and built a cabin there. In 1836, Amos Wright bought land west of Beaverdam from David Birney and built another cabin there. In 1839, George Sheboygan arrived in what is now BeaverDam and set up shop near where he had been living for some time before coming to this area. He named his property "Sheboygan Rapids". By 1840, many people had settled around Beaverdam and started looking for a place to build their homes because they were afraid that war would start between Great Britain and America if they remained in Canada. On July 24th of that year, Congress passed an act declaring War against Great Britain which began World War II When World War II began, more people decided to come to Beaverdam because they thought it would be safe here than anywhere else in America because no one knew what was going to happen during war time. Many businesses were opened up here during World War II including Cement Works Incorporated (later known as American Cement Company) which manufactured cement for building purposes; also Wernher Kapp's Brewery which brewed beer for military use; and Fred Hennessey's grocery store which sold groceries such as meat, breads etc., among others After World War II ended, many people decided to leave Beaverdam because they didn't like how things had changed since then or because they didn't have any jobs available here anymore ikesa Wernher Kapp donated all his business assets including his brewery and grocery store to the city of Milwaukee so that Milwaukee could keep them open while he took care of his other businesses . In 1958-1959 when much progress was being made with upgrading infrastructure due to Interstate Highway 1 construction projects along I-94 corridor north/south/west Bowen Road across Lake Michigan Basin - Town Council authorized demolition contract for Beavers Dam Elementary School & high school buildings #3 & 4 on NW corner lot facing Big Screen TV Plaza development located 3 blocks away from downtown off Northwestern Expressway
