Beaver Dam has a rich history as an agricultural community and its economy depends on agriculture, manufacturing, trade and transportation. The area that would become Beaver Dam was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. The first European to visit what is now Beaverdam County was Captain John Fitch in 1792 during his exploration of the Great Lakes region. In 1836, US president Andrew Johnson named it after Major General James Beavers who had been killed in action during the Mexican-American War two years earlier. In 1912, when Wisconsin became a state, Beaverdam became one of its ten townships. The following year saw construction of the first dam on the Kinnickinnic River which forms most of present day Beaverdam Township and portions of neighboring Scott and Uniontownships. At this time much progress had been made for both rural settlers and industrialists alike in what would later become Beaverdam Township; this Included such projects as developing water supplies for communities downstream via canal systems or dykes as well as large-scale investments in roads, schools and other infrastructure necessary for economic development. The heyday of Beaverdam came about during World War II with industries like shipbuilding able to thrive thanks to wartime demand from both America’s allies (such as Japan) and Axis Germany; however by 1945 all but one plant had closed down due to lack of materials or competition from American companies such as Ford Motors Incorporated (now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). However since then there have been mixed fortunes with some successes while others have failed to make a dent in either local jobs or tax revenues; This has left many residents feeling they are “on hold” while their county grapples with more pressing issues such as budget shortfalls or erosion within its social fabric caused by population growth over time Today though many people remain proud veterans or active duty military members who contribute physically and emotionally to their communities through service academies, law enforcement/firefighting services or various other types thereof; And although many cannot afford high school degrees these days some kids continue on into college Prep programs thanks largely to access to private scholarships offered by area businesses .

In 1970, it seceded from Racine County to become its own municipality again within city limits. On July 1, 2008, Beaver Dam voters approved annexation by Milwaukee into the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area (MMA). The history of Beaver Dam goes back to more than 100 yearsago when settlers arrived in this small town and began logging operations on land that now includes both Village of Beaverdam and parts of Waukesha County. When they started their logging company there were only three homes built so far but over time these grew into some of the most significant businesses around here- being one of the first to offer internet service through copper wires throughout their property- founding what would later become OneWorld Communications Incorporated with headquarters located just off US 41 near downtown which still operates today as “One World’s Communications Inc.,” one stop for all your tech needs whether you are looking for cell phone service or home internet; also thanks to them running many road construction projects along 42nd Street helping make downtown aspect much more vibrant today!
