This merger created a subsidiary that produced ammunition for both Winchester rifles and handguns. In 1949, National Firearms Industry Incorporated (NFI) was formed and became the sole producer of electric firearm light systems worldwide. By 1954, NFI had become aware that electronic firearms were becoming more popular and decided to develop their own technology in this new field. At first they designed only electric light systems but soon after began developing gas-fired assault rifles as well. The development of these firearms led to increased production at NFI as well as an increase in profits which allowed them to purchase additional equipment and expand their manufacturing facilities into two new buildings on North Fourth Street in Baraboo - one overlooking Interstate 94 and one overlooking Lake Michigan

The population density was 16 people per square mile (6/km²). There were 226 housing units at an average density of 10 per square mile (4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98% White and 2% African American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1% of the population. So, when someone wanted to buy a gun, they had to go through an intermediary like a store or sheriff. This process was called “the black market.” There were also no regulations on who could own guns or how many you could possess at one time. One of the first firearms Safety Laws was passed in 1827 by President Andrew Jackson. This law required all owners of handguns to have a license and present it at any time they wished to purchase or use a handgun. Baraboo is a small town in the town of Dodge City, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 993 at the 2010 census. The community is named after General Anthony Wayne Baraboo, who served as army colonel and U.S. senator from Indiana in the late 18th century. The first settler in what would become Baraboo was Joel Hegarty in 1834. In 1836, John Atherton settled there and built a log cabin on the bank of the Fox River. By 1840, there were six houses in Baraboo village and one store. By 1850, there were twenty-five families living in Baraboo Village and eleven businesses had been established. The first post office was established in Baraboo on November 3, 1856; it operated until 1865. In 1861, Samuel Burt opened a grocery store in what became known as the “Wonderland” block of Main Street to serve settlers living along that stretch of Main Street north of State Road 724 (now US Highway 45). That same year saw another settlement boom when Drury’s Implement & Forge Company opened a forge and blacksmith shop near present day Racine Avenue and First Street near Depot Square Park to produce cannons for Union forces during the American Civil War (1861-1865). In 1870, George Hildebrandt organized a Methodist church which met at his home on High School Road east of present day Racine Avenue between State Road 724 (now US Highway 45) and Depot Square Park before moving to their current site two years later on October 2nd Caller Creek Drive west of Drummond Avenue off County Road S-12-02 about 1/4 mile south of today's intersection with Mifflinburg Rd., just past where HWY 31 crosses I-43 just before entering Dodge City proper Butchery operations started by an unknown individual around this time located northwest corner lot #1B behind Wilkinson Hardware Store now occupied by Green Acres trailerpark across from Post Office on Commerce Blvd . There was no school or hospital within reach so residents either farmed or went to Dodge City for help when needed By 1880 there were over 100 people living in Baraboo Village with 12 businesses including three churches plus four schools – one public high school attended by all grade levels while two private schools also operated side by side – three miles upriver from downtown Dodge City limits while only one house could be found within five miles limits due to river flooding so farmers often took shelter inside homes during bad weather . One business owner even built himself a damsel's castle complete with moat surrounding his property fortifying it against invasion by neighboring townspeople during those days
The town of Baraboo was founded by the Potawatomi in 1837. The Town of Baraboo was named for General David Denny, who fought in the Mexican War and as a result became president of Mexico.
