Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin is a small town in central Wisconsin. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It lies within the Green Bay metropolitan area. The first Ashwaubenon settlers arrived in 1836 and built a log cabin on the current site of their present-day home. The community was named for nearby Ashwaubenon Lake. In 1868, a group of settlers established an agricultural society in what is now the town. They grew crops and raised livestock until 1916 when they became one of the first towns to join the city of Green Bay. Today, Ashwaubenon residents are engaged in many aspects of their community life: business, government, education, arts and culture, family traditions and values; agriculture; recreation; tourism; and giving back to local food banks and other agencies that support the citizens of Ashwaubenon. As one of only three communities in central Wisconsin with its own hospital (the others being Oneida and Racine), Ashwaubenon has been able to provide health care services for its citizens since 1898. In addition to his hospital's role as an essential provider of healthcare for all residents of Ashwaubenon County, Dr. Joel Fenton also operates two other hospitals - one located in Menomonee Falls and another located just outside the city limits - as well as more than 20 outpatient clinics throughout the county which serve everyone from infants to seniors living alone or with special needs children.

Ashwaubenon is a town in the town of Ashwaubenon, Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 573 at the 2010 census. The first white people to come to this area were French voyageurs who came through the area in 1814. They named the place "Aubigny" after a trees near their camp. The first permanent settler was John Pillsbury, who built his house on what is now Main Street in 1824. He and his family were the only ones living in the town when it was created from part of Green Bay Township on November 3, 1850. The following year saw another milestone as part of a larger settlement movement that began with the founding of Appleton by Isaac Pease and David Whitcomb. Many farmers in this area decided they would rather live closer to resources than stay away from new territory altogether. By 1853, all but one family had moved into Ashwaubenontownship and by 1860 there were over 150 residents living there. After years of growth and development, Ashwaubenon reached its current size when it was annexed by Green Bay on January 1, 1893. At that time it had a population of 2,451 people total including 1,811 within the township itself and 593 citizens of Ashwaubenontownship which included most of what is now Douglas County except for a small portion east of Appleton village where German (Wis.) settlers established themselves in 1902-1903 before being disbanded according to American Immigration law
