Over time more settlers arrived and various businesses were established including an grocery store (1857), blacksmith shop (1859), post office (1864), tailor shop (1868), bank (1902), livery stable (1912) and lumberyard (1914). In 1924, local residents organized themselves into a school board which then implemented changes such as increasing tuition rates for students from wealthier backgrounds while also improving funding for schools across the state. In 1969, local voters approved annexation by neighboring Green Bay due to financial concerns surrounding other small towns within that city’s boundaries. With this annexation came new challenges such as increased traffic congestion within Ashwaubenon itself as well as difficulties meeting tax obligations levied against annexed municipalities by Green Bay authorities. Today, much like its predecessor years ago, Ashwaubenon relies heavily upon its agricultural economy with an annual production value exceeding $1 million dollars according to unofficial statistics furnished bythe business community within the town limits themselves. Agriculture has been an important aspect of life here for centuries thanks to ample rainfall which allows crops such as corn, beans and wheat to grow abundantly; however recent technological advancements have made agriculture even more lucrative with advances in irrigation systems and other equipment utilized today on modern farms across America

Ashwaubenon is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It was first settled as a log cabin community in 1836, and has since grown to become a small but influential city on the east side of Green Bay. With a population of just over 4,000 people in 2010, Ashwaubenon is the largest town in Iron County. The history of Ashwaubenon begins with its location on the south side of Green Bay, close to where the river met the Lake Michigan shoreline. When open water retreated after leaving Milwaukee behind in 1846, settlers built wooden shanties on land that would later be called Ashwaubenon Landing. By 1850, when railroads arrived and cut off transportation between Green Bay and Chicago, many residents decided to move their businesses and homes to what is now Iron County for reasons including cheap land prices and access to new markets. The first post office was established at present-day Ashwaubenon Landing on July 1, 1851; it served as the nucleus for what would become Ashwaubenon village until February 2nd of that year when it moved to its current site across from downtown Green Bay. The village grew quickly due to business opportunities available from expansion into surrounding farms and lumber mills; by 1865 there were twenty-one businesses operating out of three blocks square (the Village Hall still stands today). In 1896 local voters approved creation of an incorporated municipality which became known as "ashwabenoni" after nearby Ashtabula Creek (later renamed Whitefish Creek). With growth came increased infrastructure needs such as water systems, sewers, schools and parks; by 1913 median home values had topped $100K thanks largely to increasing development along Main Street which paralleled Interstate 94W/Uptown Expressway until that highway was constructed near downtown in the early 2000s. Although most residents remain employed within their villages or cities today (although some have relocated outside those borders), aspects such as retail trade (particularly around downtown), professional services (lawyer/paralegal services being especially popular) and even tourism have played important roles within both municipalities over time - this has particularly been true forAshwabenoni whose rich cultural heritage has made it an attraction for tourists ever since its incorporation into Wisconsin’s statewide culture network in 1998
Ashwaubenon School District was created in 1868 and is the oldest school district in Wisconsin. The district covers an area of 5square miles and has a population of over 9,500 students.
