In any case, Appleton became established as a community under this name early on and continued to use it throughout its history. In 1850, three men - Isaac Morse (aged 25), Daniel Fenton (aged 23) and Enoch Pratt (aged 21) - settled adjacent to Appleton and started raising corn for local consumption and selling samples at marketplaces around the area before setting up a threshing machine near where current Uptown shopping mall stands today. This early Cornish industry survived until about 1915 when larger machines replaced them with mechanized harvesting techniques which led to increased prices and loss of jobs in those days). On December 22, 1850 residents voted 3-2 to incorporate as a town with James Mclntyre serving as mayor; this action marked the start of something much more significant: The incorporation process would later become one of central importance in township government with subsequent changes reflecting growing township populations over time... In 1865 when property values beganto appreciate following Reconstruction efforts by President Abraham Lincolnand Congressthe village motto "For All Mankind"was chosen as its official seal... Appleton, Wisconsin is a small town in the state of Wisconsin. It was founded in 1881 by John and Nancy Appleton. The town has grown since then, and now has a population of around 1,200 people. Appleton is located in the north-central portion of the state, on the banks of the Menomonee River. The Appleton area was first settled by Native Americans in the late 17th century. In 1811, John Appleton purchased land east of present-day Appleton from Peter Schuyler. The following year, he and his wife Nancy established what would become the nucleus of what would eventually be called Appleton. appleTON was platted as a village on March 10, 1831. By 1840, it had reached its current size with a total population of about 20 residents. AppleTON's post office was established on January 1, 1836; it continued to serve until October 15, 1949. On July 7, 1861, during America's Civil War (1861–1865), Appleton joined forces with nearby towns such as Green Bay and Milwaukee to form an agricultural district known as "the PrairieNorth." The district helped contribute to Wisconsin's victory over Confederate forces at Gettysburg that summer. In 1865/66 when Wisconsin became an independent nation following Reconstructionism after American Civil War ended - due to lack of federal funding for reconstruction - many former slaveholders moved into north central Wisconsin along with their slaves to take up land freed from slavery within that region free from pre-war restrictions on white settlement westward into farmland now occupied by Native Americans and other recent European immigrants (Dutch settlers). Some remnants of these early settlers still live today among us in some form or another - such as descendants of those who built New Amsterdam’s first permanent settler house near downtown Chicago – while others have left for better opportunities elsewhere within our great country since then (for example many Germans who immigrated to Milwaukee during this time). Anyway back to our story: On July 7th 1861 all these farmers banded together under one roof because they were being taxed too much for owning property outside their districts! We won! And we’ve never looked back since!
