In 1847, Allouez was founded by Capt. David Allouez and his wife Sarah. The town grew quickly from its small beginnings to become a thriving center for the fur trade and agriculture in the area. In 1872, Captain David's son-in-law, John Leland, opened a store in town and soon began to sell cleaning supplies and firearms. over the years, John Leland became an important figure in the community, both as owner of the store and as a key player in community life. In 1907, Captain David's grandson Nathan Leland bought the business from John Leland's widow Sarah. Nathan continued to run the store until his death in 1950. From 1850 until 1910, Allouez had one post office; however, during World War I (1914-18), it served as headquarters for both WI state militia units and also acted as a base for German forces fighting on American soil. In 1951, Nathan's grandson Jack Leland inherited the business from his father; he operated it until 1984 when it was sold to Wm & Jane Weiland of Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin who changed its name to Allouez Sporting Goods Incorporated (ASGI). ASGI continues to operate today under their current name of M&J Sporting Goods Company Incorporated (MSG). As with most businesses growth throughout history there have been many changes associated with it - first through changes within family generations then through changing technology which has caused some Alouette residents even more concern about our gun industry than ever before! It is interesting to note that at various points throughout its history ASGI has been able to provide quality products at competitive prices while always honoring customer service traditions dating back centuries ago! It is also worth noting that despite all these changesover time SGI has never lost sight of their core values which are customer satisfaction along with innovation and creativity!

Allouez was founded in 1854 by Morris and James Allouez. The first post office was established in 1855. The name "Allouez" is French for "place where apples are grown." Apple trees were brought over from England during the 1800s and early 1900s, and the town began to specialize in apple production in the 1920s. Today, Allouez produces about two-thirds of all local apples that are sold throughout Wisconsin. The firststore opened on Main Street on October 12th 1854 by Morris & James Allouez under the name 'Avery's'. On November 4th of that year they made their first sale which resulted in $5 being paid for goods including flour and bacon brought into town by wagonloads from Dodge County. This store continued to be open until 1861 when it closed due to lack of customers; however, it reopened under new management on January 15th 1862 with Reuben Kline as manager. In 1865 Kline built a frame building which still stands today as the original Post Office building; this building served as an office until 1964 when it became a public library after being donated by Mrs Fannie Hillman (1865-1976). Kline also managed a general store called 'The Old Mill' which operated from 1863-1924 before becoming defunct again due to low customer numbers; however, it re-opened on May 1st 1924 as the current Business Building for Local Government purposes next door to Town Hall/Library originally built by Reuben Kline himself back then! In 1914 local resident John Ransom started growing corn on his land east of town limits; he did so until 1930 when he moved his operations to what is now known as Greenfield Park located just south of town limits across Racine Avenue from his original farmstead! Although there have been various changes over time - mainly increased transportation costs associated with climate change - Corn Production remains one of Main Street's most important economic engines today! Today nearly half century later, not only does Main Street continue its proud tradition of providing quality produce at great prices - often available fresh off the farm - but also education opportunities are available through several local schools (including Harrison Middle School), along with more than 20 small businesses within 5 miles radius serving residents here including many pure food processing plants catering exclusively to cheese making etc., creating an intense agricultural market well worth exploring if you're looking for some delicious homegrown products!
