The first white people to appear in Allouez were Levi Bryant and his family who settled there in 1836. The first black person to live in Allouez was James Manning who arrived there in 1857. In 1865, George Washington Carver came to Allouez and started a farm known as "Carver's Place." In 1893, John Dyer bought "Carver's Place" and moved his family to it from Waukesha County. The town was named for General Andrew J. Butler who served as Governor of Wisconsin from 1876-1878 and as Ulysses S. Grant's Secretary of War from 1881-1884. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2010, there were 2,827 people residing in the town.[1] Of these, 1% were Hispanic or Latino of any race; 0% had no educational level other than high school or equivalent; 45% were married couples living together; 34% had one child under the age of eighteen living with them; and 53% are female residents over fifty years old.

Allouez is a town in the town of Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 4,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Eau Claire metropolitan area. The name Allouez comes from French and means "the place where the alligators live." The first settler in Allouez was Abraham Allouez who arrived in 1836. He founded a farm on the east side of present day Allouez Lake. In 1857, Isaac Hull built a store and house near the site of today's Allouez Elementary School. A post office was established in 1858, and by 1860 it had become known as Allouez. In 1870, George Haggerty purchased land northeast of present day Allouez Lake from Abram Land de la Salle for $2 per acre. This land became known as Haggerty Addition to honor George Haggerty (1811-1881). The first school in what is now Allouaez was built on this property in 1872-73 by Mr. & Mrs. John Beattie with help from local farmers and citizens under their leadership; it served grades one through twelve until 1902 when it was replaced by an enlarged version called Waukesha High School which opened September 1st that year with 5th grade students only! Haggerty School closed due to budget cuts during World War II and reopened as Waukesha Intermediate School on October 3rd 1945 after years of renovation and expansion! In 1949, Raymond Marsh donated land to be used for housing development west of townline road 9042; this area became known as Marsh Park after him! Alloueez has seen many changes throughout its history including annexation by Wausaukee Township in 1955, becoming an independent municipality May 20th 1959 with a population of 740 residents; rapid growth following incorporation coincided with dramatic rural exodus during the early 1960s before dwindling enrollment caused township trustees to seek annexation back into Milwaukee County 1964; another annexation occurred 1969 when portions of neighboring West Bend were annexed creating what is now Racine
