In 1854, Allouez was incorporated as a town and in 1868 it became a city. The first black person to live in Allouez was Dr. John L. Pettit who arrived in 1881. In 1941, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and all of Wisconsin was placed into lockdown which lasted for days. Many people were displaced and many businesses closed. The City of Milwaukee made an emergency decision to give everyone free food regardless of income so that everyone could survive.
Allouez is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,906 at the 2010 census. The village of Allouez is located within the town. It is part of the Racine–Waukesha–West Bend metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Allouez was George Allouez who arrived in 1847. He built a log cabin on the present site of the Village of Allouez in 1848. In 1893, he donated land to create the current Village of Allouez. George Whetstone founded a gristmill in 1855 and became its first owner/operator. The mill closed circa 1915 but was reopened as an agricultural store some time later and continued running until it burned down in 1974. Allouez had one post office from 1859 to 1865; it was renamed West Bend after Windham Hill, New York (then part of Erie County). A new post office opened in 1966 and remains operating today under that name.

It consisted of two barrels with an attached stock that allowed you to shoot arrows with just your hands while keeping your fingers free to hold the barrel/stock combination steady! This invention led to what is now known as an air-powered bow, which became much more common during World War II thanks to advances in artillery technology and materials available at war zones

The post office at Allouez was established in 1857 and remained operational until it closed on July 6, 1966.
On July 1, 1836, the Town of Allouez was organized as a village. On January 3, 1839, the Village of Allouez became an incorporated town.
