Allouez, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 8,824 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Oneida County. In 1851 Allouez was established as a village on the west side of Green Bay, by fur traders who had come from Canada to trade with the American Indians. The first settler in Allouez was James Hargrave and his family, who arrived in 1852. The first arms shop in Allouez opened in 1857 by J.D. McMillin and remain open today as Blacksmith Shop #1 LLC under the name of McMillin Arms & Ammo Company Incorporated (AMC). AMC has been manufacturing high-quality firearms for over 125 years and continues to produce rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers under several different brand names including Browning®, Glock®, Sig Sauer®, Smith & Wesson® and Ruger® handguns; among others! In 1865 all but one family left for good when gold discoveries were made at Kettle Moraine east of Green Bay; however, There remained an adjacent cabin until 1868 when John Laughlin started operations with a two-horse wagon turning a wheel to make bullets out of lead ore he found near his ranch property now called Laughlin Trail State Park northeast of town on Lake Michigan’s Menominee Peninsula’s eastern shoreline; this operation would become known as Laughlin Bullets which continue to be manufactured here today! In 1898 Third World War veteran George Webber bought land along La Crosse River east of town from Nicholas Fritsch for $2 per acre to start what would eventually becomeWebber Ammunition Corporation headquartered here since 1944! At that time there were only about 20 people living here working on 3 plants producing ammunition for US military use! By 1945 ammo production had increased 5 fold to 2 million rounds per day thanks largely to advances in explosives technology during World War II due primarily to wartime needs such as incendiary bombs used against Japanese targets - making Milwaukee home again as America’s Primary Manufacturing Base for Ammunition Production Valuing Quality Over Quantity

Allouez was a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. It is located on the Iron Range east of Green Bay. Allouez is named for George Washington Allouez, a merchant and political leader who served as governor of Dodge County from 1851 to 1861. Allouez began as a rapidly growing stagecoach stop on the then-new Milwaukee road in 1852. By 1860, it had become an important transportation center with its own post office and hotel. In 1871, the first all-electric streetcar arrived in town; by 1910, electricity had reached almost all of the community. The towns growth continued until World War II when it declined dramatically due to rural exodus and decreased industry along with increased competition from neighboring towns. Today only a few houses remain standing in what once was an established small town with active commerce and cultural activities today serving mostly as tourist attractions
