Allouez is a town in the Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Waukesha–Stout Metropolitan Statistical Area. Allouez is located on State Highway 151 north-northwest of Green Bay. The area now known as Allouez was first settled by German immigrants in 1854 and named for Ludwig Wilhelm Allouez, a fur trader with the Davenport and Milwaukee Railroad. In 1855, settlers named their community after General David Dixon, who had led an expedition against the Sioux in 1851. The town took its name from General John C. Frémont when he arrived in late 1855 and platted it on land that lay east of present-day Waukesha County Road 153 and south of present-day State Highway 151 (then County Road M). In 1870, all of what is now Ozaukee County was organized as Wiscona County; however, because it included most of what are now Green Bay and Waukesha counties, Allouez remained within Wiscona until 1889 when it became part of Lake Michigan City township under the jurisdiction of Racine. In 1925, Racine incorporated as a city; however, Allouez retained its rural character until 1959 when it became a town under the jurisdiction of Ozaukee County. On January 1, 1966 all residents withintownship were forced to leave due to an annexation referendum by Racine which they voted not to support because they felt they would be treated unfairly if annexed into Racine again later that year. On November 3rd 2006 local officials held a vote to annex neighboring towns North Port and Menomonee Falls with no clear winner announced until after polls closed at 11pm CST on November 6th 2006 which resulted in both towns joining Ozaukeecounty effective December 1st 2006 with Menomonee Falls becoming its new mayor while North Port reverted back to its original name

Allouez is a town in Marinette County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census. The community was established in 1854 as a result of the merger of several small towns in Marinette County. It is named after French General Lafayette. The first post office in Allouez was established on November 10, 1854, and served until May 3, 1865. The first settler to arrive in Allouez was John Ahern who landed on July 5, 1853 on Lighthouse Point near present-day Allouez Lake. In 1855, the railroad reached Allouez and began construction of its mainline through the area. In 1870s and 1880s there were several placer gold deposits discovered in nearby Clear Springs Township but no development took place as these were not connected to the railroad system. The mill built by George Kapp started operating in 1888 and remained operational until it burned down in 1951 due to an electrical fire caused by an overloading transformer.(1) In 1907 another mill construction started with help from localstructionist organization called Prairie Farmer’s Union that aimed to improve working conditions for workers throughout Midwest.(2) During World War II most residents engaged themselves with their local farms or businesses providing goods for war production such as munitions manufacturing and textiles.(3) However some residents also joined military service during that time including Anthony Sommers who enlisted at age 17 quickly rose through the ranks becoming captain before being killed fighting overseas during World War II.(4) After the end of World War II many people returned home tired of postwar boomtown growth which they saw as wasteful spending while others found stability within their community while enjoying good quality of life amenities like easy access to education and shopping opportunities

In 1881, ammunition production resumed when a new mill was built south of town on Hwy 20 and Wabash Avenue.
