Eventually, this company merged with two other companies to form "The Company," which continued to produce high-quality optics until it ceased operations in 1984. Throughout its long lifespan, The Company has been managed by a family tradition of entrepreneurs who have made a positive impact on the local community through their business ventures. Morgantown is a town in West Virginia, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is the largest town in West Virginia and one of the most populous towns in the Appalachian region. Morgantown is located on the Allegheny River and is bordered by Preston to the north, Huntington to the east, Monongalia County to the south, and Armstrong County to the west. The first permanent settler in Morgantown was Nicholas Suttles on May 22, 1792. The area that now includes Morgantown was already inhabited by Shawnee and other Native American groups. In 1814, General William Booth during his military campaign against Major Robert Ewell decided to make Morgantown his headquarters. He named it after General Nathaniel Banks who had led him in this campaign. In 1828 Captain John Surry began construction of what would become known as Surry Station on land he purchased from Colonel George Washington Morgan for $10 per acre ($2 per square mile). This became Morgantown's first post office which opened on November 12th, 1830. In 1832 Lieutenant Colonel James Fenton built a small cabin near what is now downtown Morganton with funds he had received from President Andrew Jackson for survey work within West Virginia Territory (now Kentucky). On February 20th of that year Fenton donated land north of Surry station for a new courthouse and jail which were completed in 1835-36 under Governor John G trueblood Sr.. The town originally consisted of only four buildings: a storehouse/cabin used by traders on Main Street; a hotel/motel on Griggs Avenue; an academy/school on Patton Avenue; and a blacksmith shop/forge behind Third Street Baptist Church (1837-present). Morganton played an important role during both Reconstruction days following America's Civil War (1861-1865) when many Western Virginians chose not to fight or migrate eastward because of wartime disruptions caused by slavery issues – including at local level by soldiers manning Confederate camps inside West Virginia – but also because many businesses closed their doors during those years due to lack of business opportunities outside of Charleston or Mobile Alabama where free black people lived side-by-side with white people who continued Fourth Ward Parish’s slave trade into 1865 without penalty or consequence beyond property confiscation! During these difficult times there were numerous protests throughout Appalachia against discrimination faced either overtly or covertly both locally & nationally against “colored” people (& all other “nonwhites” too!) & especially womenfolk! Some citizens even cooked kerosene over open fires (& still do so today!) to generate heat despite significant fines issued (& heavy enforcement!) until some progress has been made recently w/ regardsawsomeness shown thru tax money generated thru coal productionidation etc.) nonetheless much more needsto be done!

Morgantown is a town in West Virginia, United States. The population was 10,829 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Morgantown County. The first settlement in what would become Morgantown was made on October 14, 1827 by James Winton and his family when they horses were lost while traveling through this area. They named their new village "Winton." A post office was established in 1828, and the town took its present name from General George Washington's army encampment located just outside town on Valley Forge Road. In 1830, John Caddis built a gristmill onpresent-day Market Street to process wheat that had been brought overland from Pennsylvania by wagonloads. The mill continued to be in operation until 1865, when it became an engine house for the Coal Mine Company. In 1881, Morgantown became the administrative center for Monongalia County after it was split from West Virginia Territory. Morgantown has experienced various periods of growth and decline throughout its history; however, it has never been without a presence in local cultural life or business since its incorporation as a town in 1881. The first festival held here was called "Pioneer Days" and featured exhibits about early pioneers and their lives within the community as well as entertainment options such as music concerts and arts shows. In 1923, Morgantown hosted the world's first "Festival of American Art" which showcased more than 350 artists from around America at one of downtown Morgantown's hotels. A major development that occurred during the late 1990s helped to revitalize downtown Morgantowndeveloped several high-end restaurants including Benaroya Hall (now known as Starbuck's), Ponderosa Steakhouse & Cafe, McCormick & Schmick's Place Grill & Lounge, Baja Mexican Cantina & Tequila Bar - all of which remain operating today despite being closed for many years due to economic conditions or redevelopment projects elsewhere in town.
