In the early 1800s, Martinsburg was a thriving city known for its gunsmiths and firearms. The town grew as a result of its location on the Monongahela River, which made it an ideal spot for manufacturing firearms. In 1827, Martinsburg became the territorial capital of West Virginia. This meant that gun magazines were established in the city to store and sell firearms. By 1840, there were more than 50 gun magazines in Martinsburg. The first school in Martinsburg opened in 1802 under teacher John Winnfield.* In 1810, Abraham Lincoln was born here on October 12th and moved with his family to Springfield Township when he was about 4 years old. He attended one day classes at Middlebury Academy before moving back to Martinsburg where he pursued an education at local schools until 1827 when he entered Yale University as a freshman.* From 1830-1832 he served as editor of Yale’s newspaper “The New Haven Gazette”* During this time he met future Ulysses S Grant who then studied law with him at Yale and eventually became one of America’s most influential politicians.* After graduation from Yale Lincoln returned to Martinsburg where for two years (1832-1834) he edited and published The Daily Republican* In 1835 Lincoln ran for office as a Democrat against incumbent Captain James Krieger* When Lincoln won the election they merged their political organizations into the Republican Party* Lincoln served two terms as President of the United States from 1865-1868(*note: due to term limits set by Congress after his first term expired * note: four unsuccessful attempts were made during his second term to re-elect him but all were rejected because no majority could be reached))*) Lincoln died on April 14th, 1865 just over three months shy of his intended five year term limit set by Congress.* On July 9th 1863 Union general Ulysses S Grant ordered General Robert E Lee out of Petersburg *Lee decided instead to march into Petersburg unopposed *. Confederate General Jubal Early followed suit soon afterwards(*note: early engagements between these two armies resulted in heavy casualties for both sides; however Lee managed ultimately achieve strategic success). As a result of this battle Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens resigned from his position effective immediately*. For many residents of Martinsburg life changed forever; some had always dreamed of visiting America’s capital city but never thought it would actually be within reach!?!?

They date back to the early 1800s, when gunsmiths and collectors began manufacturing their own magazines in order to keep track of their guns. Today, magazines make up a large part of the firearms industry, with over 120 million copies sold each year. One of the earliest and most popular magazine brands was Winchester Repeating Arms Company’s “Winchester Weekly”. The first Winchester magazines were made from 1892-1896, and they were used by hunters and shooters for competition purposes. From 1897-1912, Winchester produced its own Reloading Manual which helped shooters reload their guns more efficiently. In 1912, Winchester merged with Remington Arms Company to form what is now known as Remington Rand Corporation. At this time, rifle magazines became an important part of the company’s business portfolio. Beginning in 1916, Remington began producing shotgun magazine rounds instead of just .22 LR rounds. This innovation allowed shotguns to be shot multiple times without having to re-load them every time. The next major change that occurred within Rifle Magazines was the advent of airguns in the 1920s and 1930s. Gunmakers began producing airgun magazines in order to provide consumers with high quality ammunition at an affordable price point. Airguns quickly became one of America’s favorite handguns due to their low recoil and easy handling – making them perfect for shooting practice or target practice! In 1951, Colt Firearms Corporation entered into a partnership under which they produced both handgun AND magazine versions of their=firearm line called Colt Revolver Pistol Magazine System (CRPMS). This system allowed users to carry multiple weapons across different states without having to worry about carrying separateMagazine Catch pouches on each weapon! Over time, other manufacturer’s similar products were released such as Ruger Manufacturing Company’s Baron Classic Series pistols which featured shoulder stock assemblies that could hold several rounds per clip (i.e., 10 rounds total!). These types of modifications led eventuallyto what we know today as Glock handgun magazines!

In 1865, John Browning created the first shotgun with a magazine feeding system.
