At this time, target shooting wasn't yet considered as an acceptable form of recreation for American citizens living inside the United States proper (the country was just starting to become post-Revolutionary). However, these men were determined to start their own version of “British Rifle Shooting” which would soon become world famous! They came up with the idea that each person should bring their own rifle and shoot at smalltargetsthat they could take home with them as souvenirs! Many businesses remain open today such as Ecker's department store opened in 1923 which still stands among others downtown including Sears Roebuck & Co., WTRH dba Comcast Sportsnet Richmond, PNC Bank, Belk Department Store and several restaurants such as Joe's Place BBQ off Gadsden Street closed during prohibition but reopened as an African American owned restaurant called Joe's Place Harlem before being shuttered again during prohibition period In 1950 Norfolk Southern Railway relocated its tracks downriver from downtown into what is now Midtown Mall making it easier for people to get around town with less traffic . In 1998 Walmart opened its doors within walking distance of downtown giving new life to downtown while also renovating most of what used to be Downtown Commercial District including signage now visible all over Midtown Mall
