Since the early 1800s, bluefield, West Virginia has been a center for firearms production. The town became known as the "Arsenal of America" due to its many rifle and shotgun factories that produced weapons for America's wars in both World War I and World War II. In addition to its rifle and shotgun factories, Bluefield also manufactured handguns and machineguns. Today, bluefield is home to several gun shops, antique stores, and ranges giving visitors a chance to learn more about the history of firearms production in the town. One of the most famous firearm manufacturers in Bluefield was Smith & Wesson. The company started making revolvers in 1887 and began producing firearms such as pistols and rifles in 1903. It continued making firearms until it was sold to Colt Industries in 1968.Today, Smith & Wesson is still a subsidiary of Colt Industries with manufacturing operations located in North Carolina and Maryland. Other major firearm producers during this time include Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester) and Springfield Armory Inc (Springfield). One of the first guns made in Bluefields Rifle Factory were handguns called the Daisy Model T Automatic Pistol which was first made on December 17th 1918 by John Browning who also designed the modern pistol. The design behind these pistols was based off George Steger's 1936 design which itself was based off an earlier model created by Adolphus Schreyer called the Alibi-Gun which was used by law enforcement agencies around the world before it ended up being supplanted by Glock pistols beginning in 1985. These pistols were eventually replaced by Glock handguns beginning with models 9mm/.40 S&W caliber as well as .45 ACP caliber variants beginning with Glock 19s starting in 1999 while later models such as Glock 43 have been released utilizing various barrel lengths including 6 mm (.25 inch), 4 mm (.16 inch), 2 mm (.08 inch), 0.9 mm (.032 inch), 5 MM (.308 inches) alluding back to their roots within law enforcement use prior to becoming popular among civilians following their introduction into civilian marketsplaces throughout North America beginning with Glocks chambered for 9mm/.40 S&W caliber rounds only starting modestly thereafter subsequently transitioning over progressively wider calibers including 7mm Remington Magnum (7x57mmR) through 8x57mmR rounds ultimately culminating at 8x64mmR from 10 mm Luger Ultra Compact Carcano opposite 308 Winchester Magnum round having become common chambering options for self-defense handgun shooters across North America employing various types of barrels ranging from 12 gauge shotguns uprated versions featuring 20 gauges available like Ruger LCR22 LR “Laguna” series rifles chambered for 11 x 58vmr dimensionshellfire arms ammunition continuing this trend across different types/models offered thru agents or dealers affiliated therewith without any obligation whatsoever

Bluefield, West Virginia is a small town in McDowell County, West Virginia. The population was 7,814 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous municipality in McDowell County and was once the county seat of the county. The first settlement in what would become McDowell County occurred on July 12, 1829 when three men named Jameson, Blair and McDonald erected a log cabin on a rise overlooking present-day Bluefield. ThisFIRST SETTLMENT IN McDOWELL COUNTY WERE 3 MEN BY THE NAME OF JAMESON BLAIR MCDOWELL AND HIS 2 COMPANIES CONNECTED WITH HIM. THEY LANDED NEARBY ON A HILL OVER LOOKING OUR FUTURE DAYS SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE TRADE THAT THEN EXISTED BETWEEN THESE THREE COUNTIES WAS PLANTATION farming AND Wagon wheel trade which BOTH ENDED UP PAYING FOR WITH DEADLANDS AS WELL AS VICTIMS OF WAR. On November 5th of that year, 1830 two men named Jennings and Miller set up an agricultural camp about one mile west of present day Bluefield on land they had bought from John Ritchie for $6 per acre (the equivalent of $ in ). From this initial campsite early settlers developed a variety of crops including corn, soybeans and wheat which were later used to produce flour and other goods for local markets. A post office was established at this site in 1831 with Jameson as the first postmaster. In 1835 several families decided to move from their original campsite to what would become known as "The Village" on Cemetery Road just east of present-day Bluefield where they began to build their homes and businesses. By 1840 there were over 20 homes located near the creek that served as community centers for those living nearby; these included churches, schools, stores and hotels. In 1845 General Robert Ewell purchased 640 acres (27 square miles) south ofpresent-day Bluefield from Amos Badger within sight of The Village so that he could establish Fort Ewell within it as part of his campaign against Andrew Johnson’s War Department forces invading Tennessee during the American Civil War As war progressed various Confederate officers moved into The Village including Colonel John Settle who became Commandant while commandeering supplies from local farmers before eventually being captured by Union troops nearpresent day Winchesterburg on October 9th 1865 following an attempt by Confederate General Jubal Early to relieve Marshall’s army encircling Petersburg TX After much debate among residents regarding whether or not Toombsville should be founded as its own municipal government separate from either Greenbrier or Winchesterburg authorities voted to merger both communities into one new municipality called Bluefield on January 1st 1870 . At this time population approximated 10K with over 100 businesses operating under one roof . Today only 4 home have remain standing within The Village boundaries while all other buildings are long gone .

The town of Bluefield was founded in 1792 by a group of men from Virginia. In 1865, the Union army burned down the courthouse and most of the town. The town was rebuilt with help from the government and settlers. Today, Bluefield is a small town with a population of around 100 people.
