The Yakima Gun Trigger Company was founded in 1905 by three brothers, John, George and Harry. The company manufactured triggers for shotguns and rifles. In 1927 the company merged with Browning Arms Company to form Browning-Winchester Firearms Corporation. The merger resulted in the production of Winchester firearms products throughout North America. On November 1, 1892, Yakima became the first city in Washington to establish a police department. The department was organized out of a desire by Mayor Charles W. Goodyear to keep the city safe from crime. In 1903, the city established an ordinance that required all handguns and shotguns to be registered with the city prior to sale or purchase.
Yakima is a town in the Yakima Valley of Washington, United States. The population was 9,836 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Yakima County. Yakima River State Park, which straddles both banks of the river, offers wide open spaces and interesting Wright Brothers-era buildings on one side and small businesses and residences on the other. The park also contains a visitor center with exhibits about local history and culture, as well as a restaurant and several lodging options. The town was first settled in 1847 by men from British Columbia who had lost their land in what is now Oregon during the Gold Rush. Settlers began to arrive in greater numbers beginning in 1859 and by 1870 there were over 100 people living in Yakima. By 1905, Yakima had become an important railroad junction with trains running to Scappoose, Everett, Tacoma and more distant points. In 1918 it became part of the new state of Washington when it was admitted into Union Territory; later that year it received its own post office. In 1949 it adopted its current name after John Davenport (1824–1912), an early settler who built a sawmill near present-day downtown Yakima on the right bank of the river. In 2007/2008 residents voted to form a city government for their village which would have powers including zoning laws; however this did not happen because they could not agree upon how much power city government should have overall while still maintaining some autonomy within village boundaries (i.e., electing officials). In 2016 voters approved plans to create a second municipality called "Township 2" which will share borders with Village 1 but will have no voting rights until 2021 due to disagreements over how much power Township 2 should have over Village 1's affairs once it has been created

Trigger devices were first introduced into military pistols by Major General John Jervis in 1881. He designed a pistol with a full-time grip safety that permitted the user to fire the weapon without having their hands reach around to operate the trigger mechanism. This system was later adopted by other militaries, and is still used today in some countries such as Australia and New Zealand. In 1898, Dutch engineer Hendrik Pieterszoon Vos designed and built the world’s first mechanically operated automatic rifle using a claw hammer-style trigger device known as an "Atomizer." This trigger was originally employed in machine guns but soon became widely used in artillery rifles too. The development of gun triggers has come about through many different factors over time; including technological advancements, marketing efforts, and consumer demand for more reliable firearms systems. Today, there is no single manufacturer who dominates the market for gun triggers; instead, each company produces their own unique version of this important equipment. In response to the British Crown's efforts to crush this uprising, colonists began arming themselves with firearms to fight back. This led to an arms race between the two sides, and eventually lead to what is now known as the Gunpowder Plot. The plotters were able to bring about a government-imposed gun control measure that failed when it was discovered.
Yakima, Washington is a small town located in central Washington. The population was 6,745 at the 2010 census. Yakima is one of the oldest towns in the state and it has been around since 1855. The name "yakima" comes from the Haida word yaksi meaning "to cross over." In 1855, Russian settlers arrived in what is now Yakima and they established a village called Yakimaville. This village served as a junction for wagon roads leading to Stevens Pass and throughout much of eastern Washington. In 1907, Congress passed the Indian Reorganization Act which defined certain Native American tribes as final or primary owners of land within their respective reservations. As a result, the Yakama tribe received title to some area near present-day Yakima City that had been part of Price River Reservation until that time. On March 3, 1907, Congress authorized the town of Yakima to be chartered with its own government and bylaws. The first mayor was John Davenport and original businesses included an hotel and grocery store. In 1912, Yakuza Komei (the Japanese military) moved into downtown when they took control of Japan's West Coast during World War I. By 1916 there were six stores in downtown with eighty-six employees including sixty-one women working at local breweries and seventy-five men working at lumber yards across town outside of City Hall on First Street NW The 1920s were difficult for many small businesses in Yakima due to increased competition from larger companies such as Boeing Airplanes Incorporated (now Boeing) after WWI ended In 1924 Congressman James Lyden recommended that Yahkoma be granted city status under bill HR 711 After much debate among business people within the community Mayor Lewis Aiken voted against giving city status but this did not stop other communities from applying for cityhood including Spokane Falls on November 14th 1925 On December 9th 1925 voters approved granting cityhood to Yakima by an overwhelming margin with 97% voting in favor
The Yakima Valley was first occupied by the Nisqually and Suamish peoples, who built villages in the valleys between the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound. The first permanent European settlers were the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806, which passed through the Yakima Valley on its way to visit Mount Rainier. In 1854, a group of British Columbia miners, led by George Simpson, set up a mining camp near modern Yakima. By 1870, there were over 200 miners living in Yakima County. In 1892, when Congress created Washington as a state, Yakima County was included within it.
