The Yakima Gun Mags company was founded in 1911 by George P. Smith, an armorer and firearms dealer from Yakima, Washington. The company specialized in making magazine-fed pistols and rifles using a variety of models including the Winchester Model 1892 rifle and the .45 Colt revolver. In 1936, the company merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester Ammunition Corporation. In 1977, Winchester Ammunition Corporation merged with Sig Sauer USA to form Sig Sauer Incorporated. SIG Sauer continues to produce handguns and rifles under its own name as well as selling accessories such as magazine pouches, grip stocks, sights and triggers.

Today's downtown area developed rapidly due to this migration - Douglas Elementary School opened in 1907 and Central High School was built in 1958 - as well as other industrial growth associated with Seattle's post-World War II boom period. The arrival of Interstate 5 50 years ago hastened this process by creating access to jobs throughout all parts of town; today even some areas that once relied heavily on agriculture are becoming major metropolitan areas thanks largely to advances in technology and economic development elsewhere

A group of men led by George Wright set out to exploration this new land and found that it had great potential for mining! They quickly dispatched all competing miners and started work on their own mine, which became known as Wright's Gulch. This initial success gave impetus to other miners throughout the valley and soon there were dozens of small towns established hereabouts!
