The Woodinville Observatory was established in 1892 as the first observatory in Washington state. The building, located on the corner of 12th and South avenues, is now a museum. The observatory was home to a variety of telescopes used for astronomy until 1922. It was also the home of Mount Rainier National Park's first ranger station. In 1926, the Woodinville Observatory became part of Washington State University and continued to provide professional services until it closed its doors in 1984. Today, the building remains a museum dedicated to astronomy and research at Washington State University.

Woodinville is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area. Woodinville is located on Puget Sound west of Bellevue and east of Moses Lake. The first settlers in this area were those who arrived from England in 1792. In 1924, Wafer Paper Company opened its doors here as one of Northwest's earliest paper companies. Wafer Paper continued until it merged with Japanese paper company Nippon Kogyo in 1961 to form Japan's largest paper company by sales volume (Japans Nikkei list). During World War II, woodincville became a target for German Luftwaffe bombing raids because of its strategic location on Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma; however no damage was done to either town or mills during the war years despite Allied airstrikes against German targets within range of both towns withoutresulting any civilian casualties or material damage theretoat either place Shawangunk Village (), about northwest of Woodinville) or North Cascades (). Nearby Boeing Plant also received some significant Bombardment during these hostilities although none caused any loss or damage to either plant nor did it cause any loss or damage to civilians situated therein other than some light flying overcast conditions during daylight hours which incidentally affected all three plants collectively but resulted fortunately only in nuisance birds visiting us foraging around our factories while we were under construction). Although there have been occasional reports over time alleging civilian casualty due directly or indirectly to military activities taking place adjacent/nearby communities - apart from very limited US military activity taking place on Puget Sound - such allegations remain unconfirmed with any substantiated evidence until now however given current state & technology available - given this history & recent events surrounding Woodinville specifically & across much of King County generally - I feel confident that such claims are credible enough even though they remain unverified

Woodinville experienced growth during World War II as the home of Boeing Aircraft Company’s Research and Development Center. The plant closed in 1992 but its archives and artifacts remain at Woodinville Museum today.
The first permanent settler in the area was George Smith who founded a homestead in 1815. The town of Woodinville was platted in 1834 and named for General Ebenezer Woodall, an American Revolutionary War general. The town had a population of about 100 people when it was incorporated as a village on December 1, 1851. In 1907, the town became the city of Woodinville after annexing neighboring towns along the way.
