Woodinville is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 27,725 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma–Bellevue metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Woodinville was James Mclntyre in 1853. A post office called "Wrightsville" was established in 1854, and remained in operation until 1907. The name is thought to be derived from a local tree which grew abundantly on the site where the post office sat. In 1862, John Wesley Hudson built a log cabin on land that now forms the eastern edge of Woodinville Park. Hudson served as mayor of Woodinville from 1865-1867 and 1870-1871. In 1886, Jens Ludwigsen purchased land east of present day University Way and developed it into what is now known as Johnson Hill near the intersection of First Avenue and University Way. By 1890, Johnson Hill had over 20 homes and two stores. Downtown Woodinville began to take shape during this time with several large buildings such as Seattle's first Carnegie library (founded in 1902), Snohomish County Courthouse (1904), Evergreen Savings Bank (1910), Pacific Lutheran Church (1912) and Tacoma's first brick building – First National Bank Building – being erected during this time around Jackson Square on Second Avenue NE corner First Street NW which would later become Pioneer Square after becoming an urban renewal project led by Mayor Whitehead in the early 1960s spearheaded by Admiral Hyatt Regency Hotel developer Carl Lundquist who also helped create Pioneer Square with similar architecture including a large central plaza surrounded by small blocks of buildings housing various businesses including Safeway grocery store opened adjacent to Japanese cultural heritage Museum Pierce Arrow studios located across Roberts Road from Home Depot department store opened adjacent to CenturyLink Field - both were anchored by Regency hotels which became major employers for residents/workers within downtown consistent with downtown growth pattern until displaced by development along Interstate 5 late 1970s following Olympics when Interstate 5 container port became main northsouth transportation corridor followed by associated suburban growth patterns resulting in high density development around I-5 corridor throughout most of Puget Sound region suburbs expanding into formerly rural areas outside MetropolitanSeattle boundaries subsequent to suburban growth patterns despite earlier promise made to Rural District Council that no new suburb will be created withincity limits during next 25 years following cityhood process A new freeway extension southward linking I-5 with Puget Sound through Moses Lake completed in 1998 removed much potentialdensity located within city limits prior to freeway construction while also reducing opportunities for jobs and residential development near freeway & airport due primarily to lack of available highway space & available development elsewhere

Woodinville is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 26,604 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County and the home to Woodinville High School and Seattle University. In 1853, George Stephenson built his business on Puget Sound as the first steamboat plying that route. In 1863, John Sibley arrived from England with his family to start a sheep ranch here. He named his land Woodinville after one of his daughters had been born there. The town began as a small community around Puget Sound until it grew rapidly during World War I when many soldiers brought their families here for military service. After the war ended, many new residents came to town and it continued to grow rapidly through the 1920s and 1930s due to its natural resources - timber and water - which made it an attractive place for businesses and farmers alike. By 1940, Woodinville had reached its current size with over 30 buildings totaling 100 feet (30 m) or more in height including two pulp mills that processed Paper Mill lignite coal from nearby Mount Baker National Forest. Woodinville's growth was further supported by federal investments during World War II which led to increased production at local mills while also providing jobs for locals. During this time as well as since then, Woodinville has been known for its strong sense of community spirit along with its dedication to education – both locally-owned schools have been among Seattle's most successful high schools; Woods High School has won state championships in bowling (1998), cross country (2004), soccer (2008), handball (2010), track & field (2012) as well as football (2009). In recent years some challenges have arisen such as declining enrollment at local schools combined with increasing housing costs; however these problems are being addressed by Mayor Adam Zukowski's efforts towards spurring job creation within the city limits via initiatives such as job fairs/job training events/. As of 2016, Mayor Zukowski estimated that 2 million square feet (~500 000 sq ft) will be developed within downtown woodINVILLE over ten years resulting in 30000 new jobs throughout KING COUNTY!
The town of Woodinville was founded in 1851 by George Washington and his brother James. The town was named after Mount Vernon, Virginia, the home of George Washington and his family. The first post office in Woodinville was established in 1852. In 1870, the town became a city and was renamed Woodinville Heights. In 1978, Woodinville merged with Bellevue to form the Bellevue-Woodinville City School District.
