After repeal, handguns became widely available again and were allowed on premise again at businesses with 50 or more employees only. In 1978, a new ordinance was passed that banned knives larger than 4 inches long from being owned or possessed without a license. The law remains in place today and has not been repealed since then!

Wenatchee, Washington is a small town located in the Wenatchee Valley of central Washington. The population was 2,959 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yakima County seat and contains the towns of East Wenatchee and North Wenatchee. The first European to arrive in what is now Wenatchee was Jedediah Smith in 1827. The town was founded on October 3, 1867 by John Day and his brother Noah Day. The name "Wenatchee" came from an event that occurred on November 15, 1865 when General George Armstrong Custer's Seventh Cavalry attacked a band of Cheyenne Indians near present-day Waneta Lake. A large fire resulted from this engagement and destroyed many supplies along the way. One local historian has written that "the name 'Wenatchee' meant 'providence' because it had been given to one of several places where water could be found." The area around Wenatchee was timbered for much earlier than either the Columbia River or any other major river in eastern Washington. When gold was discovered at Bullfrog Creek in 1861, miners began traveling upriver to prospect for gold hereabouts. By 1865 wagon trains carrying goods upriver had arrived daily, making this region one of the most important sources of trade between Yakima County and Walla Walla County during that time period. As early as 1854 President James Kapp assigned George Wright to survey routes through Spokane Valley for railroad construction eastward into Oregon Territory via Stevens Pass; however, no action took place until after General Lew Wallace's abortive expedition into Lewis & Clark National Park in September 1860 seeking passage across Isthmus Of Lewis (now Douglas) River for settlers/railroad builders ended with his death atop Mount Rainier while exploring northern Cascade Mountains some 20 miles southeast of present-day Wenatchee on September 25th - three days before the rest of Wallace's party reachedthe same destination! A few weeks later another attempt by membersof Lew Wallace's party led by Captain Moses Eaton failed when 400 miles southwesterly from Seattle they encountered Chief Joseph Yurok who refused them passage northward over his land route instead! In viewof such failures two groups consisting mostly young men under Captains Hockadayand Ballou were dispatched northeast along Stevens Pass almost coincideing with Captains Eaton & Ballou'sfailed attempt but their trail became lost enroute!!! All these events occurring within a spanof only about 8 months which indicates very serious lackadaisical attitude towards potential railroads development thru Spokane Valley!!!!!! This illustrates once again how quickly things can go wrong if not watched...... In response to these setbacks may have come into being what are today known as "the Main Street Streets". Hockaday developedwhat are now Eastern Avenue (now Kenmore Avenue), Western Avenue (now Second Street), Northern Boulevard (now Broadway), Pacific Highway (Now US-101), Capitol Waynorthwest (now NE 54th Street) and South Spring Streetsouthwest corner opposite current day Cheney Elementary School). These roads soon became known as "Main Street" because their general vicinity lay within walking distance both from business owners/igrants westward down MainStreet(then called Indian Trail) reached by wagons running up main street past various stores ownedby proprietors going eastward; also people coming from outlying farms could walkto various businesses located along main street which lined most partsofcurrent day rural areas including East Side Neighborhoods startedgrowinguptoparadiseau valley slopes since there was no real center then except downtown buildingsLimitless growthexpectation ensuingwhen WPA built new courthouse downtown circa 1930!!!
