The first mayor was Mrs Ayscough Gillespie and subsequently served until 1929 when she resigned due to health reasons after serving six years without interruption since 1906; her successor was Mayor Frank Jorgensen who served until 1951 when he became county executive; then county auditor Harry Biletnikoff held that office until 1984 when he took office as mayoralty president within the City Councilmember Dave Bergman's mayoral campaign PWL Incorporated Incorporation Plan #1 effective January 1st 1985).
