Tukwila is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 44,812 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Pierce County and home to Seattle-Tacoma Airport. Tukwila is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the United States. The city has a unique history with gun parts being some of the first consumer goods to be marketed in what is now America. The firstguns were made by Northwest Gunsmiths Company in 1868 and were manual Loadingers for muskets and shotguns. This company was started by John Sellers who also designed and built the first firearm banjo in America back in 1868. In 1872, Sellers started NGC Manufacturing Company which produced firearms such as revolvers, pistols, rifles and shotguns under various brand names including Olympia Arsenal Company (Olympia Guns), Snake Island Armory (Snake Island Firearms) and High Bridge Armory (High Bridge Firearms). These companies supplied arms to both sides during the American Civil War as well as World War I. In 1916 NGC merged with George Eastman’s Rochester Firearms Corporation to become Eastman Kodak Company but continued producing firearms until 1968 when it became part of Colt Industries Incorporated. In 1865 Reverend James Wickersham developed an improved revolver which he named “The Bible” after his book of that name from 1764 entitled “A Treatise on Rifles” written by Samuel Johnson author of “ Rasselas” or Le Morte d’Arthur etcetera published 15 years earlier Wickersham pistols would go on sale between 1865-1875 becoming household names all over America due to their high quality and design

A pistol was also manufactured that same year. It was made by John C. Stevens from a design submitted by Prentice Lumber Company of Seattle.

The name is derived from the Tukwila Creek which flows through the city. In 1853, Eugene Smith and his brother-in-law David Goodall founded what became known as Goodall's Expedition on October 10th of that year to explore and map the Oregon Trail. They named their first settlement after David Goodall's uncle, Captain George Vancouver (1795-1845), who had served in British Columbia during the early days of Canadian colonization. In 1855, Captain John Cockerill established Fort Vancouver within boundaries of what would become Tukwila. The town began growth rapidly with an influx of settlers in both directions - eastward towards Seattle and northwestward towards Portland – until it reached its peak development around 1900 when it had a population of 507 people. By 1910, however, Tuikwila had shrunk to its current size due to factors such as heavy competition for land from Everett and Lynnwood along Interstate 5 and other transportation corridors; economic stagnation; new construction projects downtown; and suburbanization outside of town limits. The City Council enacted an ordinance recognizing Prohibition in 1933 following liquor prohibition in much of Western Washington state throughout most of 1932-33 under then Governor Earl Warren's Executive Order 6362/1932). On November 3rd 1933 Mayor Clyde Iverson announced that alcoholic beverages would be sold only by licensed merchants subject to titling fees which were assessed against each purchase not more than $2 per bottle or case (the same regulation applied to cigarettes). After a long struggle against organized crime element that controlled many aspects of local life including prostitution rackets among others,Tuikwila finally became dry by late 1938 when all alcohol sales were stopped at all businesses except for those operated by licensed retailers and wine stores could still be bought only from individuals over 21 years old with a valid government identification card! As part of this program tuikwila also began using "tourist buses" providing transportation for visitors between various attractions located throughout town limits including Discovery Park Amphitheater & Expo Center on First Avenue South & Bellingham Road West; Museum District on Fourth Street NE & Union Street SE; aquatic displays at Pacific Science Center on Third Avenue NorthNW near Lake Washington shoreline; King County Fairgrounds on Ninth Avenue SW near Airport Boulevard SW
